I was thinking just the other day how crazy it is that Wales’ second choice keeper plays for Leicester whilst their first choice is Nottingham Forest’s third keeper.

The first goal was bad. Then he got chipped whilst stood on the 6 yard line. He is dreadful. Brennan Johnson is probably better between the sticks.

It's commendable that Liverpool have downed tools in support of Gary.

Bournemouth fully deserve this.

When was the last time a player came out of absolutely nowhere to light up a league like Kvaratskhelia has this season?  Kante maybe?

He is a weird case that's for sure, but he had a bunch of hype as a youngster when he was playing in Russia and I'm sure a ton of top teams were watching him. Then Russia invades Ukraine and their league says foreign players can suspend their contracts and he ends up back in Georgia. Then moves to Napoli, it all seems abit bonkers. God knows what went on behind the scenes. I can see him potentially breaking the transfer record though, he is only 22.

The fact that there's a combined score of Liverpool 17, Man U/Bournemouth 3, yet the latter got six points is wonderfully lol.

Wonderfully lol/extremely laboured

2-2 Leeds was our best chance to get something out of a DGW given Palace are guaranteed to beat us 1-0 midweek.

If they were having a less shite season I'd be more confident but the way things are going it is set for a stone cold 3 points for them.

He was a hero for us in the playoffs but I think Huddersfield fans were universally bewildered when he went to you for £12m+. The consensus was that he was a pretty average Championship keeper and we'd be needing better.

Liverpool's ability to get good money for unremarkable young players has been pretty impressive over the years.

It cuts both ways.  Liverpool will get good money for fringe players because they are Liverpool.  They’ll also pay a premium for transfer targets because they are Liverpool.  This is true of any ‘destination’ club.

It's pretty much written in the stars, a 1-0 win for us with an own goal off the back of Dunk's (*spits*) head, we then return to our shitty results and stay up by a point or two, meaning the game with us is what keeps us up.

In reality I think you destroy us, at least 3-0 with no real mettle in the perofmance (aside from Zaha having bigger and bigger tantrums as the game goes on) and it's the final straw for a lot of borderline fans on the subject of Viera.

I think if the atmosphere at the Amex was like it was when Potter returned with Chelsea then it will be difficult for Palace to get anything. But I think that was the exception rather than the rule.

Still going for us having 23 shots (7 on target) and someone like Edouard scoring in the 87th minute.

Liverpool have been really good at selling young players for lots of money, especially compared to Man Utd who seemingly can only get rid of players by loaning them out or letting their contracts run down, mostly due to the massive wages Ed Woodward was handing out to absolutely everyone.

Battle of the claret and blues today. And it's setting up to be a stinker. Villas record against West Ham is appalling. West Ham aren't bad at home. Villa's away form is one of the best in the league. West Ham are coming off the back of an European match, though not a terribly difficult one. Villa without Kamara have disgraceful form and given Doucoure tried the cripple him last week it's unlikely he'll be playing. This is shaping up to be a horrible spectacle.

I think Wigan might’ve put up the worst performance I have ever seen in a football match yesterday. They are absolutely dog shit.

Stuck something in the Chapionship thread, but they weren't even the worst side I've seen at the Turf in the past month.  They took a dumb sending off, but at least tried to play positive football and almost scored a couple through taking advantage of sloppy defending.  They also had the fatal thing for a side at the bottom - they were on the wrong side of a particularly picky referee.

They tried to play good football, were willing to block, Amos had a good game in goal.  They were a shed load more positive than Boro, who for large parts of the match at the Turf wouldn't even step out of their own half.

Ollie Watkins on a hot streak, scored 6 in 7 and it probably would have been 7 in 7 if not for our old friend the Own Goal.  Unai Emery has figured out how to get a tune out of him.

Nice to see Diego Carlos on the bench for Villa today.  He was our big summer signing (£26m central defender) and he got injured on his home debut.  I think today is just a case of him being eased back into the match day squad but it will be interesting to see the longer term ramifications of him being available again.  It seemed at the time he was being bought in to replace Tyrone Mings but in his absence Mings has signed a new contract so where does he fit? Mings and Diego Carlos are almost the same age to the day (they both turn 30 this week, Mings on Monday and Carlos on Wednesday) while Ezri Konsa who has been playing alongside Mings is only 25. Not sure how I feel about the age of the squad going up with all these signings who will have no resale value at the end of their contracts but it’s a situation the club willingly walked into.
