Not sure if to ask in here or ATF…

What app are you guys running for scores? I have used OneFootball for years as it has decent notifications to phone and Apple Watch but these days its 90% adverts unless you spend 99p / month to get rid of them…

Any better apps you lot use?

The BBC Sport App works better than most.

Hey! Who remembers when the whole ball had to cross the line to count as a goal?

Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. :D

They did show the angle where you could see that the ball was over the line today in the end. It was about half an inch over. More than enough.

I use Flashscore. Generally don't have any problems with it, although my one gripe is the website (on desktop) and the app don't sync until you have the app open.

But otherwise, grand. Handy for other sports too, I get some tennis, rugby and hockey scores too. If it had the GAA I'd be laughing.

Seventh is pretty damning for the league because we’ve been hopeless this season, apart from winning the title against City last weekend.

11th by the World Cup I reckon. Still top-half though ;)

We are somehow only 5 points from 4th. We should be cut adrift with how poor we've been

Managed to get over to loftus road today for the first time in an age. Should have had the game dead and buried by half time to be fair. We looked really tired in the second half and a couple of injuries didn’t help. Hanging on a bit towards the end

But. Really positive vibe around the club. I don’t know if we have the squad depth to hold on to top spot, it’s a long hard season; I think there will be some ups and downs. Key will be holding on to Beale obviously, which I think we will do long as villa don’t come in. If they do I think he goes.

After that it’s a case of trying to hold on to willock (when he is fit!) and chair.

I went on a Newcastle podcast last season after they had beaten Arsenal and said “Sorry to be the one to burst your bubble but Liverpool and Man City aside, the fact is that rest of the Premier League is not very good at all.”

Swap out Liverpool for Arsenal and that’s this season too.

He's done an interview stating he's not interested in the Villa job and stating his support for his former colleagues, so I wouldn't worry.

Have you never watched sports broadcasting before? They all say that.

He was a little more pointed than the usual.

Quote

No chance. Great club, great history, great people, good people behind the scenes.

...

"I feel for the fans because it’s a wonderful football club, but no, I gave my commitment here the other day. There’s certainly no interest on my part. A few of my friends have lost their jobs in the last few days."

Birmingham Mail

He also seemed to be critical of the running of Villa which isn't exactly a 'come and get me' plea. And he only left in the summer. And we weren't exactly great when he was here anyway.

How much of the ball is over the line has never been a concern where Man Utd are concerned…..

(I actually cheered the Man U goal today, perfect result)

Of course it was... you're Tottingham... you HATE Chelsea 😛

I haven’t kept up with the rest of the league as much as I usually do this season, so genuine question: what has happened to Leicester? Why are they struggling so badly? Is it injuries? Just seems odd that their start has been this bad.

I turned the Saints Vs Arsenal match on with the match on about the 25th minute. Arsenal fullback Tomiyasu was about to take a throw-in. He looked like he'd just woken up and didn't know where he was. He peered around for two or three minutes. The referee blew his whistle to tell him to get on with it, so he started crab-walking up the touchline, eventually throwing it in to nobody having advanced up the pitch fifteen yards from where he was supposed to be taking it. The ball went towards Jesus, who jumped with his elbow in a Southampton defender's ear. The defender slapped him on the back in retaliation. Jesus fell to the floor, writhing in "agony" and remained there until the referee stopped the match. He remained seated as three players tried to pick him up, with that stupid "poor me" expression he does so often on his face. Several players decided to have a drink, further delaying things. Eventually there was a drop-ball. Nobody understood the new drop-ball rules so the ref had to bring it back and have another go. The ball went forward, and Tomiyasu put it out for another throw-in. Unfortunately, his boot came off, so he sat down to put it back on. Once again, he seemed confused, and took about another three or four minutes to complete this task.

I'd watched ten minutes and that's all that had happened. If I'd been the referee I'd have sent off at least four of them on principal for what they were doing to the beautiful game. Best league in the world.
