A frustrating evening at Turf Moor. Kompany has learned a lot of things  from Pep, unfortunately it seems overthinking it is one of them.

Sunderland thoroughly deserved a point. You can see why Jarrod Gillet isn’t sticking as a Premier League referee.

Yeah, that's put the cat among the pigeons a bit down the bottom. Especially with QPR still in freefall and Reading supposedly due the points reduction.

Our run-in always looked about the worst you can possibly hope for but 7 points from 9 against playoff contenders has definitely moved us back towards 'it's the hope that kills you'.

Quick post on today before I never ever speak of it again.

First half hour was the worst I’ve ever seen is play against anyone ever - previous worst was first half hour at home against Middlesbrough in 2011 when we decided to set light to our slim automatic promotion hopes - but at least in that game numerous players had apparently been out on the piss the night before.

Then they scored again, but we immediately equalised and that allowed a bit of hope to creep in.

Second half was more even, but we didn’t really looking like equalising until we did - cue mayhem as it looked like we were getting a point and maybe we’d go on and win it.

But we let Swansea tip tap it around again and they looked content for the point until they won a free kick right outside the penalty box.....:

It would have been better if they’d just win 4-0 again.

Im not proclaiming we are going down after that as we ‘might’ be able to scrape ourselves above someone, but it looks like QPR are going to be the best hope now and we have to win at Blackpool Friday and get something against Sunderland Monday. Lose Friday and don’t beat Sunderland and we might be doomed.

You can forget about losing at Bloomfield Road, or the idea we’ll catch you.

The only way those things will happen is if the owner comes to his senses in realising what an almighty fuck up he made in appointing McCarthy, who has to be the worst appointment in my lifetime following the club. Completely unable to get anything out of these players.

Speaking of disastrous managerial appointments, Wilder at Watford really isn't working. Not that we thought it would.

Then as expected we rolled over easily to Luton yesterday, and the Rob Edwards thing is increasingly making the club look like the most clueless bunch of twats ever - yeah, they've had a lot of sackings over the years but none of them have actually gone into anything better and proved us wrong so it was hard to argue with a lot of them. Until now.

The Pozzos have done a lot for the club (especially in terms of infrastructure which won't be forgotten) but we're now back to exactly where we were when they took over and there is no clear strategy to fix things. Too many players look like they can't be arsed this season, and you can't blame that on the coaching.

No, sorry, you're right. I sort of forget about Dyche as he was part of the new owner 'cleaning house' thing they all like to do, bringing in their own guys etc. I don't think he even managed a single game under them.

What the fuck's going on

We looked dead and buried a few weeks ago. If Warnock keeps us up from the state we were in when he took over I'll put in for his statue, Brexit fan or not. They can put it up outside ref's HQ or something.

I think we’ve put the final nail in Blackpool’s coffin, but while we’ve moved up the actual table from 4th bottom at last - it’s only on goal difference.

Its one from us, Huddersfield, QPR, Reading and Rotherham.

is and a Rotherham have a game in hand against each other so someone is getting points there. Reading are in a slightly false position due to their points deduction, Huddersfield are now in top two form and QPR have to win at some point, don’t they?

So God knows who it will be. Everyone has tricky games on Monday - can someone put a bit of daylight between them and everyone else?

Every side down there apart from us has Burnley still to play, so I'm sort of counting that as almost a game in hand or something.

I'd probably be most worried if I was either a Reading or QPR fan at the moment. QPR have actually won a match more recently than Reading, but enough defeats ago that they've probably now lost faith in getting a new manager bounce.

Since we have Reading on the last day it's absolutely nailed on that we won't be safe and will be in for a horrendous afternoon of buttock clenching. That fixture just existing passes for a self-fulfilling prophecy where Town are concerned.

You’ve got us the week before.

After the Rotherham postponement - the league and sky have kindly moved the rearranged game to a Thursday night and our last home game against the Terriers to Sunday lunchtime 3 days later.

As opposed to the original rearrangement of Tuesday night and then Saturday 3pm so that’s less recovery time for us so Sky can show a game no neutral gives a shit about on a Thursday instead of a Tuesday when it would have been on the red button on the Tuesday anyway.

Yeah, our last match before we play you on the 30th is on the 18th. You've got three games in that period and the last one you'll be back home in the early hours of Friday morning to play again Sunday lunchtime. Brutal. You'll probably end up turning us over!

I hope you don't find yourselves talking about the fixture pile-up caused by the Rotherham thing the same way we still talk about David Hopkin's handball for Palace that helped send us down in 2001.

Mick McCarthy mutually consented at Blackpool apparently!  Hoping for the new new manager bounce?

No, it’s too late now and it was obvious 2 or 3 games in that he had no idea what he’d taken on and had not a clue how to get the most out of our (admittedly poor) squad. Should have been potted weeks ago.

We’re down now and I think Mick just didn’t want to stick around to take even more flak from the fans.

Couldn’t go today, but appears we were very poor against Sunderland.

Fortunate that Preston scored late against Reading and Huddersfield only managed a point in the end, but back to 4th from bottom and now only out of relegation due to Reading’s point deduction.

A shite watch as a United fan. Silly mistake to make in defence. As you can see, our backup keeper is terrible, so it’s bad news we have to put up with him in the net in the next game. Burnley didn’t have to work hard for that one.

I wouldn’t worry about your backup keeper being terrible given you are playing us next Saturday.

Watford have put out an official tweet stating that Chris Wilder will remain as Head Coach as per the terms of their agreement.

In other words, they wanted to sack him after 36 days but he was smart enough to put a clause there.

I'm still absolutely speechless. Shows what a fucking joke club you have become when you have to announce that you aren't sacking your manager.

Still somehow outside the bottom 3 although now only on a 3 goal better GD and Reading losing 6 points.

All 4 teams just above relegation lost so Reading’s draw against Burnley was the result of the day at the bottom assuming Blackpool’s win against Wigan won’t end up meaning anything with so few games left.

I reckon it’s us or QPR.  You’ve got to think QPR will win at least one before the season ends despite the being in free fall so we need to make our game in hand count.

You weren’t really any worse than any number of crap teams I’ve seen us play this year. As usual, we won by simply being less shit than our opponent, not by being particularly good. Ndiaye continues to be a very special player, though.

We’ve shown signs of a pulse but that’s all it is right now.

Mind you, back it up with a win at home to West Brom on Tuesday night and that would really put the cat among the pigeons.

It's all going disconcertingly well for Cov. Thanks to Wasps and the Commonwealth Games tearing up the pitch we went into October dead last, winless and games behind and having to rush and sell Dom Hyam because of the missing revenue from those games, somehow we're heading towards the end of the season only a point behind Blackburn who we play tomorrow.

I have trouble believing we'll actually make the playoffs much less promoted but whatever happens Mark Robins is an actual miracle worker and by far the best manager we've had during my time supporting the club (we'd won the cup just before I started going) and without wanting to jinx it, the future actually seems quite positive for the first time I can remember.
