Other than the FE, what’s the next best 4090 out there that may be available ?

I'm not convinced that any other card out there is worth the price hike I'm afraid. There are some cards which are selling for the same price as the FE one, but they're even harder to find than that card unfortunately. 

 

The honest advice if you really really need one now is get the cheapest one you can find.

Do the more premium cards have better fans, are they any less noisy when they ramp up in speed? 

 

The third party cards do seem to have gotten a little ridiculous. I can't remember which review of the 4070ti I was watching but the card was physically larger than a 4090fe which is obviously absurd and unnecessary.

In the past that would have been the case with the fans, but this time it appears the FE one is just very well designed.

Went 4080 FE in the end, got it coming Monday from Nvidia / Scan.  Yes I know everyone thinks it’s overpriced and has no market, but I’m coming from the 770hd in my 13700K so maybe I am the ideal 4080 market ! 
 

Considered the 4090 but the 4080 seems to do an average of 100 FPS at 4K either natively or via DLSS at Ultra settings and runs cooler and quieter than the 4090 so that’s good enough for me and I’ll use the £400 saving over the 4090 to get a Steam Deck

Dude, if there's any thread on the forum that you can proudly proclaim that you spent a load of cash on hardware it's this one. The upgrade is going to be absolutely gargantuan - enjoy it!

So you just changed the currency on the card you bought it with to the Argentine Peso via Paypal, then paid with that card, right? Where did you buy the GPU from?

Scan. The card has now dispatched and the "correct" amount has come out of my account. Paypal will initially show the conversion as the old one before the change to how the Argentinian Peso seems to work, but if you use a currency converter you can see what you're actually paying.

 

Pretty pleased with this deal!

I've changed my VISA debit to pay in Argentinian Pesos and a £840 4070ti is showing up as costing 196,263 Pesos:

This is how it worked for me, yes. I don't know about charges for foreign currency, but it's not flagged as a peril on the deals site explaining it. Either way, it's going to be a fraction of what you save.

I accidentally bought it: I clicked on the 'Review Order' button on Paypal and it said there would be one last step at Scan, but it's just gone and processed the order without me clicking confirm. £485 GBP out of my account, apparently. We'll see. I hope I haven't just committed fraud...

Got my 4080 FE delivered earlier.  It’s a thing of absolutely beauty.  Glad I went for it over an third party card. 
 

Need to download some games and test it out now!

Well, I guess that's fair. In the other thread where this was revealed people are now talking about ethics and stuff which I honestly didn't even consider in my acquisition of shiny things. I now feel bad and will probably return the card.
