Road House remake

Jake Gyllenhaal is starring in a remake of Road House for Amazon, directed by Doug Liman. Don’t know why it needs to be remade, but there it is. He will be a former UFC fighter who takes a job as a bouncer in the Florida Keys.

 

Conor McGregor will also be in it, presumably with the UFC link. But they say he isn’t playing himself. It’s supposed to be his first proper acting job. But can he act?

 

Also cast are Billy Magnussen, Daniela Melchior, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Lukas Gage, Hannah Love Lanier, Travis Van Winkle, B.K. Cannon, Arturo Castro, Dominique Columbus, Beau Knapp and Bob Menery.

I read an article on MSN where the actor who played Jimmy told the story that they really laid into each other in the last fight, after they both agreed but didn’t tell anyone else. I remember it looking brutal, GREAT film.

If you judge a film by rewatchability, the original is the best film of all time.

As other have said this film doesn't need a remake, the original is solid and has aged well against similar films of the time. 

 

I can't fathom why they'd do it beyond some desire to have control of it creatively and financially. 

 

Will definitely give it a watch but right now I wouldn't mind seeing the original again.

So I will definitely give it a watch.

Yeah the original is a lovely film. Especially when he rips out that guys throat and then kicks him into the lake.

 

Seems quite well suited to McGregor.
