Ok not related to the topic at hand but this just popped up on my timeline and well....

Sounds okay to me. Although I'm not sure QA is quite the right role. Somehow they could do with a basic understanding of how games actually work under the hood. Same for gamers and most software users really.

I'm often amazed by how little understanding there is of how this stuff works. I have to remind myself that as a software developer it comes somewhat naturally (even if my experience is not in games).

Having said that, and accepting that games are complicated, there is not excuse for the very very poor quality of shipped titles these days. On consoles with fixed hardware setups there should not be as many fundamentally broken or janky elements on release.

Pretty sure he's Darth Vader right about now after that price increase announcement -

For some reason I don’t think we’ll get our usual “we got this wrong” tweet from Jim Ryan this time.

Well, anyone questioning the price increase is getting this instead  -

Clearly that Darth Vader themed PS4 released in 2015 was Sony foreshadowing all of this - https://blog.playstation.com/2015/08/16/star-wars-ps4-bundles/
