Not really it's just the typical COD bullshit. Basically just completely disrespects your free time, your storage, and your patience. But it's too big to fail and theres basically no competition nowadays so you just gotta suck it up.

Why would they bother to do better? Masses of people fall over themselves to pay for this experience on day one. They jump hoops to play a few days early.

Just got matched up against 6 pc players whilst on Xbox. One of their team had an 8 kd ratio. Fuck crossplay.

I have the crossplay disabled but since most people don't know about the Xbox system toggle buried in the depths of the settings menus, it can take ages to find a match. Still I persist with it

I really like the Sicario/Narcos border map with the abandoned cars and the F1 map, Ive not played any single player so no idea why they are locations but good stuff

These are the two I hate most. Particularly the bridge full of cars - to my mind it’s the single worst designed multiplayer FPS map I’ve ever played (in a big release). That and the race track are just corridors and impossible to spot sight lines everywhere. Who sees who first, bollocks. Hateful stuff. I like the bombed out Middle Eastern village and Embassy best. The former feeling OG Modern Warfare and the latter is some Rainbow Six shit.

Can't say I've had a single issue with it all weekend. Disabled cross play at system level on Xbox and it's throwing me into games instantly.

 

The maps are all excellent if you don't play the sweaty trash playlists like FFA and TDM.

 

Gameplay and gunplay is glorious and as good as CoD has ever been - new Prisoner Rescue mode is some of the best online gaming I've ever played.

 

No doubt all your favourite weapons will be available to unlock in the first Season pass so don't worry too much about the new unlock tree. That being said I've really enjoyed being pushed to use weapons I'd usually ignore. Who knew the Battle Rifles were so satisfying to use.

It's not great, I really hate having to scroll across to select a loadout that's off screen, same with killstreaks and considering that's never been an issue since I started playing this game, it does seem a strange thing to introduce. The menus in general are counterintuitive and they aren't consistent in terms of behaviour.

 

The game itself is pretty fun, but I think a lot of the groundwar maps are way to big and there isn't enough cover between the cap points on some of them. In invasion there doesn't seem to be any drawback to just sitting on a rooftop sniping, and calling in big killstreaks.

 

The unlock system for the guns is bizarre, but it does seem like a good way of pushing people to try all of the guns.

I find it really odd just how second class a citizen the campaign is now. It usually got relegated this much once the game had been out for a while and significantly updated but now, from the start, it's not even installed by default and is fairly buried down in the menus. I get that the multiplayer is the primary and long-term interest but hiding away something that has consumed such an extraordinary amount of effort seems very strange.

I'm not really enjoying MP here at all - FFA mostly with a bit of TDM here and there. FFA is the possibly the worst it's ever been at launch, hope it gets better.

 

Spawns are shit - they always were - but here it feels like that scene in the Matrix Reloaded when Agent Smiths keep spawning - it feels like you form part of a triangle of doom when you discover another player and shoot them as you are then being shot and killed by someone else. It's no wonder players camp or back into a corner, you are rooted to the spot after a kill most of the time, move and you are dead.

 

Vanguard and Cold War got some stick for being nowhere near MW2019 in terms of quality - and IW put on that pedestal - but in truth this is nowhere near as good as either - or indeed anywhere near the quality of MW2019. The crown has slipped hard here, it's like a gulf in quality between the campaign and the MP of MW2019.

 

The maps are bloody awful - end of.

 

It'll be interesting to see how this develops over time - it's glitchy as hell right now, especially in the menus - lacks polish, like it wasn't finished in time. If it's not working in a good state by Christmas then there could be no saving it.

 

Overall the fun and fair aspect of it is missing

Haha.....restarted the mission that kept crashing....now working my way through the next one, crashed, again...going to have to restart again...exact same issue, just keeps crashing when I resume campaign.
