I had some really fun games last night. Some very close matches. Managed to get the drop on a group for a satsifying triple kill with my hurricane. I was on the fortress map with my shotgun and snuck up behind a guy shooting out of one of the windows. I decided to give him a good kill cam and walked right up to point blank and blasted him in the back of the head I switched from killstreaks to scorestreaks and I'm getting far more of those now.

 

Just over a level left before I unlock a new shotgun. I've never been into a COD as much as this before. I'm at work and all I want to be doing is war murders.

 

I just remembered the guy hiding behind a bus on the border map. I could see his feet so rather than run around I shot them to see if that would work and it did

My favourite thing to do to snipers at windows is to lay a claymore behind them. 
 

Actually got a double kill with a claymore yesterday, saw two people coming and put it in the doorway. I’ve put the perk on which lets you have two claymores as well to be ultimate dick head as my reactions aren’t what they used to be.

Speaking of which - is there a way to turn off that annoying chatter audio while the thing is loading? Great the first time you hear it. Every time you load the game, not so much.

It's actually really good! Blowing up windows to suck enemies into the vacuum of space or just flicking off their helmets in melee range so that said vacuum of space will do horrible things to them will never get old, and the dogfighting's pretty rad too. I'm assuming that the outcry was because the multiplayer doesn't hold up, because the campaign's super solid for a CoD so far.

 

Anyway, as you were. Still waiting on a good price for MW2, so can't really talk about that yet.

 

Actually, I will - I'm fed up already of the youtube clickbait for MW2 with some arsehole pulling a smug expression on the thumbnail. I don't even care if their input is positive or negative (and usually it's negative to garner outrage clicks), it's a flood of simpering, gurning imbeciles plastered across my feed presumably because I watched the campaign online.

 

Gah.

 

Infinite Warfare is one of the very best COD campaigns. 

The reaction to it here was bizarre to say the least, but then it's not really bizarre and more on par with a lot of the gaming threads in Discussion. 

Some people were probably fed up of COD and the constant lime-light it holds so they bought the game anyways to then partake in the real game which is complaint-dumping in an rllmuk thread!

I didn’t see any of the reaction but would it be because it came out at a similar time to Titanfall 2 AKA the best FPS campaign, and was quite similar in a number of ways?

I remember seeing a lot of complaints about it being sci-fi rather than shooting people in deserts. It being a really good sci-fi shooter was the reason I loved it some much. Especially that opening bit on the ice moon that looked straight out of a 70 sci-fi cover,

Just picked up a really nice rifle which I think was called Nato Front Loaded but can't find it in the Gunsmith menu - anyone any idea what that might have been please?

IW's crown has slipped with this MP implementation - nowhere near the quality of MW 2019. Is there time to save it?

Some of them have renamed versions with the premium edition I think, just an earlier way to get certain guns, I believe.

I'm heading into the endgame right now, and to my complete surprise, it compares pretty favourably. I'd never have expected to say that about a Cod campaign. Sci fi and robots is the shit.

 

I just wish it wasn't tied into the five hour CoD campaign status. A more involved version of this when you're on a ship and taking dogfight / escort / base attack patrols with an extended upgrade and money system would be Goddamn awesome. It feels like it could easily be part of a much bigger game even without all the setpieces.

My utter shitness of online FPS seems like it's forever. Played all afternoon and constantly at the bottom of the scoresheet.

I don't understand why I don't improve and it makes me feel a tad inferior. I know I'm 50 but I've always been shit, lol.

I was pretty good at Vanguard but I'm shit at this. I'm 52. I win hardly any 1:1 confrontations, feels like 1 shot kills most of the time.

 

Whenever I watch the replays it never registers I've hit them at all, when I have. Latency or something maybe, fuck knows. I'm playing wired with an OK broadband of around 60Mbps d/l

 

At the moment this game is in a really bad state I reckon, maps being shit aside it feels unfinished

I spent days being crap in my first FPS, COD 4. It took me an age to work out a play style that suited me. Hardcore helped immensely, as did my claymores. Finding consistent teammates (from here) was a huge bonus in helping me get confident.

See I rarely like to join a 'team' for fear of embarrassing myself and losing us games.

 

There's probably a few factors hindering me, I reckon a major one is having no sense of direction. I quite often go through a door or window and straight into a wall & get shot.

Another is my low sensitivity settings. I try raising them but can never get used to it.

 

It gets me down as I love online shooters, it's my fave genre and so I keep trying. But more often than not I finish the session feeling rubbish about myself.

 

Thankfully God Of War is out next week. 😄

I'm having quite bad framerate issues (or maybe rubber banding) on Series X and it's really distracting.

 

Every 5 steps or so I get a visual 'hiccup' and after the buttery smoothness of APEX is making it unplayable. I've turned off all the graphics gubbins and checked FOV etc but it's persisting - any ideas?

I'm quite enjoying the multiplayer. The marksman rifle is my bag - being able to 1 shot someone in the head. And free for all - makes it far more stealthy than everyone just running around. Make noise, get banged.

 

I've seen someone in-game using a full on sniper with a super quick aim to scope time so they were running around using it as a close ish rifle and as a sniper. I want to do that that but am unsure how to go about getting it.

Basically you need to go to the special training camp that turns you into a complete cunt. You’ll never graduate, being the nice chap you are.
