If you’re in a squad, only the leader sees xp and attachment unlocks at the end of a match. Obviously a major bug but talked about everywhere. Everything definitely unlocks though, but without the little green dot to show what’s new, it’s even more infuriating.

That’s now 3 maps that have got them in hot water because they based them in real locations. It was touch and go if the Grand Prix map would make it in, but they reached an agreement and changed the name, and the museum map from the beta has also gone missing with no word if it will ever come back.

I'd completely forgotten about the Museum one from the Beta, and now potentially the Hotel one too. What a mess

 

I don't really have a favourite map in this - they are all pretty bad - maybe Farm 18 is passable - but the others play and look pretty bad - the most visually underwhelming is the Hydroelectric one - looks pukey - none of them are near Vanguard's maps visually - and maybe Cold War before it (Vanguard had superb particle effects).

I like playing on the hotel, Hydroelectric and that one with the warehouse in the middle. Farm 18 is pretty fun too. Generally though they're all a bit visually dull. Looks like the ones with character are the ones they stole from real life :)

I'm glad that's going, I don't think it's a very good map at all. Do you think we'll have any maps left by Christmas?

Sounds like everyone is jumping on the bandwagon. Rights to how the Mexico border looks, bizarre. Might be a fake shittweet though - as they probably hate the map.

 

Only a matter of time before Amsterdam gets removed from the campaign then for looking exactly like Amsterdam

First time I’ve bought a COD game since the Kevin Spacey one. The install is like pulling teeth isn’t it? Put it in the Xbox this morning so it would be downloaded and updated by the time I got home.
 

Now I’ve got an hour to myself before the kids take over the house and I’ve got to create an account only to find I’ve already created an account some time ago which means I’ve actually got to recover an account but before I can do that I’ve got to fuck around configuring Microsoft Edge on the Xbox and then root through emails on my phone and once I finally get all that done; Call of Duty requests a 10GB update which is gonna take ages to download because it’s 5pm.  I’m not gonna get to have a go on it after all.

That's been cod for a few years now. Last one I got into was the previous MW, really enjoyed it but the way things worked out at the time, Tuesday was the main day I had for playing it and just about weekly they'd have 20gb patches on a Tuesday. 🤮

Hang on, why do you have to install Edge on the Xbox?

 

Surely recovery is just shit you do on your phone and then log in on the Xbox once you've reset your password?

 

Or have they managed to do something insane

Edge just popped up on the Xbox once I left the in game prompt.  I ended up doing it on my phone but it felt like another unwelcome and unnecessary hurdle in starting the game.  
 

 

Then I fired it up and jumped into multiplayer. Got the first kill of the round and ended up going something like 2-16.  I’ve got a looong way to go before I’m fighting fit again.

I've not played COD multiplayer since the original MW2, and I'm absolutely loving it despite a lot of pretty large issues.  I get a lot of visual glitches on PC (juddering, flashing). The spawn points are often hilariously bad.

 

Coming over from Destiny 2, the only other pvp I play, the frantic pace is really refreshing.

 

Some people are really, really bad. If it wasn't for hearing them swearing on the mic I'd think they were just badly coded bots. I also seem to get a very large amount of people who put their mic next to a crying baby (literally).
