But we’ve been on a good path and I think we needed to stay on that track. Our midfield have been really important, and you can lose a player in there with some back-three systems. We feel we’ve got to get pressure on France and try to cut the supply..

I agree with Southgate..if they're missing two key midfielders it'd be a mistake to weaken England's midfield when for once it can be stronger than the opposition. Surely Rice and Henderson will help not allow any defender to be exposed.

The best professionals hate losing but are at least able to congratulate teams/players who have beaten them.

Alex Ferguson was the worst loser I've ever known but my god he respected anyone who beat him, and he said so. He hated doing it but he did it because he knew the game was bigger than him.

There's a huge difference between being a bad loser and being a bad professional and running down the tunnel in tears without ever acknowledging your team mates, opponents or supporters is something a bad professional does.

Ronaldo can fuck off. He's ruined his legacy over the past 18 months or so.

This is unbearable now. I think these two teams are very evenly matched, and England shouldn't be afraid, but I have a horrible feeling that something disastrous will happen and it'll all go horribly wrong. A red card, or conceding three in the first 20 minutes or something.

I just watched Cambridge 0 Plymouth Argyle 0. Probably one decent attempt in 90+ minutes. It can't get worse.

Edith Piaf, Napoleon, That Bloke From Eurotrash, Renault cars, Bayuex Tapestry, Coq Au Van, Allo Allo, your boys are about to take one hell of a beating.

I'm not nervous at all..I think England will win. We've seen in these quarter final games goals are lacking, the assumption that Mbappe will tear through is a bit much I think, I think England will win the midfield, there won't be pressure on the defence and the ball when in possession will reach the attackers. Bellingham to have the game of his life.

point and laugh if I'm way wrong though.

One of the things I hate about ITV coverage is that they fill the pre-match coverage by turning it into a pre-emptive victory lap.  BBC coverage tends to reflect the anxiety of the average England fan, but it's as if ITV haven't watched England at tournaments before. This build-up has been absolutely infuriating.

Also, yes we know you can bet but you're a bunch of exploitative arseholes running all those adverts.

You're all just jealous of Ronaldo. He's been a phenomenal player for decades. The end of his career is a car crash but the previous 20 years, he's been in the top 5 players on the planet. His legacy is up there with Maradonna, Pele, Zidane, Messi and Steve Stone.

Shame he’s a rapist.
