Whatever you think of Ronaldo, becoming the first player to score at five different World Cups is an incredible achievement.

To my knowledge, he's also the first unemployed man to score at a World Cup.

Loads of unattached players have been to the World Cup. It’s overshadowed by the headbutt but Zidane scored in the final without a club.

Only the second unattached captain though.

@Don WiskerandoSorry, I’m frustrated… Santos and his prehistoric tactics ruining any chance we have, as always.

Portugal love you really. I met Ronaldo once so I can guarantee that’s true. ♥️

No need to apologise.   I am channeling the frustration I've felt since 2006 when Portugal knocked England out.   I was in a hotel in Crete, surrounded by Germans who were all wearing Portugal shirts.

Really,  it's Phil Scolari who I hate.

Find this Brazil side so joyless. The ones we grew up with highlights of had a bit more chaos, a bit more vibrancy and fizz. A bit more Carlos Alberto.

This side is like the Corporate version. A merchandise machine that trundles along, a yellow, blue and white tractor, driven by Neymar wearing a permanent grimace. An ugly, fated machine chugging out nauseating fumes before careening into a ditch.

I think what you are understimating, massively, is the opposition.

These teams are so fit now, well coached. Drilled and they'll drop deep and defend.

That Carlos Alberto goal. He wasn't tracked, left to run onto the ball. He had all space to unleash. No pressure at all.

It was a different time and football is a lot harder now.

GET GREALISH ON!

Come on now, you can bet many footballers are actually self employed for tax purposes.

As we all know, the tax affairs of such stars is always above board and handled correctly.

Ronaldo is no different, he would make sure that is all above board.

Top guy.

Yes, 2nd goal that was utter shit. His first touch was dreadful. Boring Brazil.

What a disappointing World Cup everyone.
