I thought Spain's goal was wonderful.

Bloody Germans. They'll scab through.

For me. The French are the team to beat. They're good everywhere. They've got 22 World Class players.

England are up there. Brazil obviously.

For me.

France

Spain

England/Brazil

Qatar

First couple of games today a test of commitment to watching the whole thing - that said the KO times for this tournament have been great, no need to alter sleep patterns or drink coffee for late games, and 3 matches are over effectively during the day so not annoying the other half by claiming the tv all evening.

Not sure I agree with this.

They're good, and are rightly one of the favourites but without Mbappe I really don't think they're all that.

Spain, France, Brazil, England the 4 best sides thus far, although Croatia looked very good yesterday after their shaky start.

There's definitely no clear favourite IMO - no side has been consistently good and no team looks unbeatable.

Because it would mess with TV broadcaster's schedules too much is the key reason I imagine.

Seeing the disaster of VAR though, I'd be very wary of making any further fundamental changes to the sport.

Just leave it as it is.

Nothing to do with broadcasters, football has always been like this since before TVs, and also the same broadcasters are fine with rugby and NFL stopping the clock.

I guess so. My main objection really though is once you start having stop clocks you create more breaks and suddenly we have quarters and advert stoppages and before you know it a 60 minute match lasts 3 hours and we are subjected to a million adverts and shite.

All I'm saying is "be careful what you wish for." VAR should have demonstrated that.
