I forgot about the pizza side story.

I carried that bloody pizza all the way to him while walking - not running. Because y'know it was a pizza. And because the walking in DS is the best in any video game ever.

Death Stranding is such a strange game. I can totally see why some people wouldn’t get on with it, but for me it’s the greatest video game ever made.

 

What’s really weird is that it isn’t even the gameplay that makes it so good, it’s the whole environment and atmosphere. It feels like a dream that you can interact with. I know that sounds wanky but it’s honestly unlike anything else I’ve ever played.

I've never played anything like it, and I'm glad I did. I do get the urge to pick it up again (I think it's like 15 quid in the PSN sale?) but the prospect of having to learn it's nuances again, the memory of getting boned in combat and the general dirge of the cutscenes is pretty off putting.

I bought it for my son, he loved it, so I upgraded it to the PS5 version for a fiver the other week and started it myself. It's obviously bonkers, but I have Harry to fall back on to help me out if he sees me doing something obviously wrong or missing something. But worth a go I think, the traversal bits look pretty relaxing
