Huh. I installed Hi-fi Whatsitcalled, but then the icon changed to a generic Xbox logo instead of the game art, and now I can’t find it in my list of games. Cant find it in the store anymore either.

Edit - found it again, panic over.

First impressions are that it’s a bit try-hard, but kinda charming. It feels nice to play and I really like the visuals. It does that thing I’ve seen once before in the Dragonball Z fighting game, where it’s running at 60fps, but the characters animate at 24 during cutscenes to give the impression you’re watching a cartoon.

Oh great. Nests change everytime. Otherwise known as we moved the enemies a bit and hope you don't mind playing it again and again.

I realise I'm not really the audience for Redfall but I think this is a hard sell. If it's not for Arcane's involvement is this a game you're wowed by?

There an awful lot just shooting stuff whilst out in the open.

Yes, I’m finding that every time they show it. And no matter how much they assure us you can play it single player this looks like a  Destiny type affair with raids and so on, so whilst you can, it’s clearly designed from the ground up as a co-op shooter and a million miles away from the immersive sims they are known for. I enjoyed Death Loop but to a lesser degree, and with Redfall it looks like they are moving even further away from their signature style. It’s Arkane so I’ll always give them time, they will put a more unique stamp on it than perhaps is evident from the videos, but, yeah, my heart sinks a little when I imagine the types of games they could be working on instead. I’ll play it for 10 days at least ;)

Minecraft Legends is the pick of the bunch for me because it’s one I can play with my daughter, we love Dungeons and this looks like a lot of fun. And that’s out in April so not that long to wait, hopefully it will support cross platform play, have they mentioned that yet?

Forza looks really impressive but with GT7 getting a PSVR2 release it has some stiff competition.

I’m just about to play HiFi Rush, on Steam Deck, oh yeah.

I hope Microsoft have more of these Hi Fi Rush style projects in the pipeline.

It's these games that get me excited these days, rather than the likes of Redfall or other dry open world games.

Excited for Forza though, and we have no shortage of monsters this year. Resident Evil 4 alone is enough. Everything else is just a bonus!

it looks dated, becuase it’s the minecraft aesthetic, but depending on the number of players it actually looks quite different.

The gameplay of some guy running through some castle/gate thing looked pretty standard to me.

Redfall lives or dies on how interesting/challenging the world is to explore. If getting from A > B is a genuinely tense affair involving scouting ahead and figuring out routes to avoid the threats (think FarCry 2 / Stalker or even Evil Within 2) then it’ll be great. One of the earlier videos they released gave me hope that outside of combat focused trailers it actually plays like this, plus Arkane are yet to design a dull world.

Did I just imagine it or did someone say that Forza is due before the end of June?  I know there was no official release date - but it's been a long day and I might have just made that up.

That does seem to be the expectation . But in the presentation it simply said "Coming 2023".

There was this I saw on Reddit asking if they'd hidden the date...

Seeing as MS are American, does this mean it was already released 20 day ago?

I'm struggling to think of a real team-based multiplayer (with up to four players per team) action strategy game on console.

So it depends how collaborative the base building is; and how much strategy is in it. It's the team behind Homeworld, so they do have the design chops.

Certainly more risky than an Third Person Open World Fantasy Castle game. Though I suppose the Minecraft IP is less tainted since they got rid of Notch before he went overboard.

True! I mean if they can engage even 0.1% of the Minecraft audience it will make money hand over fist pump.
