How are the loading times on doors?

What controls are you using

So far @Hexx

So far no loading times., but I have only played as far as landing on Talon IV.

Teres so much more detail ad depth to the models.  You can actually see where the space pirates are hurt without scanning them. Plus it's properly deep graphics wise so scanning items/points of interest are sharp with detail rather than rezz3d up fuzz.

Controls dual stick with y-axis reversed on camera.

Only issue so far is hitting y instead of b to dodge - but thats muscle memory from other games.

Got a bit lost in the other excitement but that’s great they added the version of Mario 3 with the E-Card levels. FYI: You can access them straight away from the game select screen.

There were a couple of videos about them recently as they were about to be lost when the WiiU eshop closed, but now we have dozens of new Nintendo-made Mario levels preserved and ready to play :)

It was the longest of shots but I can’t help being a bit disappointed that they didn’t say something along the lines of TOTK will also be coming to new hardware.

There'll absolutely be a Direct dedicated to TotK before release.

Quick question. Was there any mention of the Splatoon 3 dlc being included with the higher tier online membership? I had a little look around online which seems to suggest it isn't but found nothing concrete.

Nope, just said it was paid dlc, so don't think it will be rolled in

With two major releases and several other big releases set for the first six months of the year there’s no way Nintendo want to make a lame duck of the Switch in 2023. I don’t think we’ll get a whisper about any Switch successor until this time next year.

I’m still holding out hope that we’re getting the Gamecube Zeldas second half of this year, and Metroid Prime 4.

Thank you! My daughter will want this for sure so good to know.

I think they would have specially mentioned if it was, but no. Also the Nintendo page for the DLC doesn't mention it

2 game vouchers for £79 from the Poland store, gave me enough gold points to get Metroid Prime for £27 from the same store (£31ish RRP).

So, £106 for MP, Zelda, and another first party game.

Where can you find the vouchers on the eshop? I checked all the pages and searched for voucher but it doesn't show.

Tap the ‘Nintendo Switch Online’ section in the left column and it’s further down that page :)

I take back what I initially said about it being an up-res it looks impressive, every sound and all the music is just perfect.

Best kind of remaster. Looks like you thought it did, but it's actually a huge improvement. Most remasters fail at this.

Collectors edition, can we get alerts for when this will become available? It’s gonna be an absolute nightmare to get hold of.

You can register your interest on the Nintendo store.

That metros side by side comparison video is strange in that I clearly recall graphical features and models in the original that are only appearing here in the remastered version and absent from the original gamecube footage. In some footage the difference seem to be lighter / darker palette choices between versions and its not immediately b apparent that the remaster choices look better than the original. I will of course be purchasing (and possibly playing if vertigo isn't an issue as it seems to be for most first person games for me these days)

If anything it highlights what a great job was done with the original game and just how powerful the game cube was.

Yeah I was shocked to see some screenshots of the original Prime last night. Rose-tinted glasses are a hell of a thing.

If anything, I think Nintendo actually undersold the scale of the remaster in their reveal. They could have done with some proper comparison shots to prove to people saying it was just an up-res (like me!) that it was much more.

Basically the new Metroid Prime looks exactly like we all remember it on the Game Cube.

Which is of course way better than it actually was because our memories of it are so fond.

Are we thinking about the Wii U version and muddying the waters? The Gamecube output is stunning, as in the quality of the picture - even today its impressive!

I watched the direct at stupid o’clock this morning when I should have been asleep and for once it was worth it - Nintendo already won E3 ;) waking up this morning and firing up Tetris then Mario Kart circuits with a Metroid dessert to follow

The original GameCube version is a bit rough in places, but still looks pretty good for a game released in 2002. The Wii version lost some of the effects to support free movement of the arm cannon, but I don't think there was much else different.
