Xenia - Xbox 360 emulator.

Recommended Posts

There's been some chat in the steam deck thread about this emulator as it has taken some massive strides lately, with it's canary build able to play some huge titles pretty much flawlessly, and in some cases at 60 FPS.

I've got a fair amount of time at the mo, as the cafe/restaurant I chef/manage moves to a bigger venue, so have been having a blast with it.

The only game I've got to run at a fully playable level on steam deck is Lost Odyssey. Others I've tried have just straight not worked or performed too poorly to be playable.

Desktop is a different story though. The extra oomph means titles such as Forza Horizon 2 and Red Dead Redemption are absolutely flawless, and even have extra anti aliasing and fsr upscaling. Red Dead also has a 60 FPS patch and just looks and plays wonderfully.

You can get Xenia here:

And all current patches here:

I'd be interested to hear anyone's experiences with other games. Blue Dragon for me today.

Disclaimer: I own all these games.

I've only ever played the leaked Goldeneye on it and apart from some caching stutter it was really nice. Would be interested to try out some of the FPS patches though. That 360/PS3 generation is hard to go back to because of the 30fps standard.

I'm pretty much out of the loop when it comes to anything later than 6th-gen emulation, but that's pretty impressive.

Does it support Outrun Online Arcade? Or After Burner Climax? (Disclaimer: I purchased both on my Xbox Live account and I still have my 360 Slim, uh, somewhere around here... :D )

Yes and yes.

Also, PGR4 runs at higher framerates if you disable the frame limiter in the .ini. No music last time I tried it, though.

RDR in 60fps is really 🥰.  With the Goldeneye remake leak I installed the mouse and keyboard injector and it plays real nice.
