Sickest movie you have seen

George is right about 8MM. It's not really a sick film, it's just based around sick things, and could be a lot worse.

It's about Nick Cage, who is a private investigator who is asked to find out if this roll of film containing footage of a young girl being raped and then killed is real. It goes into snuff movies and sick sex films etc, but as sick as the subject matter is, the film (8MM) itself isn't especially horrific or anything.

Mine would have to Baise Moi, a french film released last year. Baise Moi, I am informed by my French colleague means Rape Me. That pretty much let's you know what's going to happen in the film.

It stars french porn actors and actresses, is very violent, and shows (to my jaw-dropping shock) full on oral sex and penetration. Now you might not think that is so shocking but I watched it in the 'arty' Broadway cinema in Nottingham with about two hundred other people including my girlfriend and had no idea before going in that the film was so explicit.

I've never walked out of a film before but I was very close there. It was like being visually assaulted, and it was a crap film as well.

In that context it was the most shocking film I've ever seen.

Are these all films you can buy, or were they all banned at launch, and are only watchable through Kazaa and your mate Barry who has a shit pirate copy on VHS?

My sck film experience is pretty limited, 8MM being about the worst I've seen.

I'd recommend getting this months Empire as it's got a feature about the death of the video and has a section on the old video nasties.

8MM is a remake of Tesis, anyway. The original is worth watching, if only to avoid Nicolas Cage's cringe-worthy 'caring man' performance.

I think it depends on what constitutes 'sick' to you. A lot of these suggestions are just braindead, inept bloodbaths. Spoorloos, for example, has no physical violence at all, but is one of the most disturbing horror films ever made. Audition had a huge impact on me, though not for the climactic torture sequence, which is a let down after the incredible hallucination scene. Todd Solondz's Happiness is quite shocking and morbid due to its subject matter, Salo is revolting, but also obnoxiously pretentious and quite dull. The War Zone is relentlessly depressing and kind of similar to Miike Takashi's Visitor Q, which goes so much further in attempting to dissect the family unit than anything else, it deserves a mention despite being pretty lame.

naked blood. thats the sickest ive seen for a while! wanna see a girl cut of her vagina lips with a knife and fork then eat em? then this is your movie...

as someones already mentioned, anthropogus the beast also springs to mind for its pregnant women scene, as does island of death for chicken shagging(!)

i found i spit on your grave disturbing for the many rape scenes. not nice

Bunman (AKA Untold Story).

Very funny, but very nasty.

ICHI the killer is good, but the speicial effects are rather poor and its not sick.

Irreversible is nasty, and ACID HOUSE (movie 1) is quite sickening.

Blaise Moi is just porn really. Theres no real gore, but the smaller of the two girls is a real babe. If anyone can PM me with any of her films.

I was truly disturbed by Event Horizon.

Distrubed by how mind numbingly awful it was and that I spent money to see it in the cinema and didn't even give myself the satisfaction of walking out (which is quite disturbing in itself).

I had great hopes for this movie, as I was in the queue, someone came out of the screen it was showing on and threw up.

After watching it I think he just did it as it was far more enjoyable than watching that crappie movie
