i didnt think sayid would think with his dick though

I have a little request, could you please use capital letters, it would make your posts seem somewhat more intelligent.

As for Sayied it's obvious that he has a soft heart under that torturer exterior. He soon fell for Shannon on the island, and ignored his duties as a member of the Iraqi Army when helping Nadia to escape execution. It wouldn't be out of character at all for him to get too involved with the german girl and have a lapse in his defenses.

The time dilation thing doesn't really work out. If Walt being older is suggesting that time outside the island is moving faster, then the projectile would have landed by the beacon before the countdown finished... not half an hour later. This suggests time outside the island is moving slower, not faster.

Though it could just be that there are time 'anomalies' around the island, rather than one specific slower/faster effect.

But that still doesn't explain how realtime communication could have happened.

:D No, I'm pretty sure that's the other way around there. It happened quicker for the woman on the ship. Slower on the island. So the people on the island experience time more slowly. An hour feels like a day etc. Erm, I think that's right anyway. My head asplode [sic].

You wouldn't be able to work out the time difference from that sceene anyway. The ship must be close enough to the island to be slightly affected too. Then as the projectile approached the island, time would have begun to slow down for it too.

But as far as the islanders are concerned, time is travelling at normal speed for them. If time on the island is running slowly relative to the outside world, then everything outside the island is happening faster, and the projectile would have also been travelling faster. Why would it therefore land later? A faster projectile would have landed earlier, even if it slowed down to their own speed once it reached them.

That would be true if they had arranged to fire it at a certain time. If they had organised to fire it at 2.45, it would have arrived at 2.15 on the island, I think. But they talked on the Walkies, starting the time then., so it arrived at 3.15. If Daniel had asked the boat what time it was on the boat over the walkies it would have been interesting.

If someone asked Rousseau what year she arrived, it would answer a lot of questions about how it works.

This is purely my speculation, and in no way influenced by anything I've seen or heard or anything..........(Spoilered in case anyone doesn't want to, you know.....see what I think)...

If a flash back was about the black monster thing, or the polar bear from the POV of it ?? We could see the island from years ago and stuff.

I think that would be wicked and a nice twist !

people should really listen to the abc podcast

rabbits...polar bears...portals to other parts of the world

I finally caved in and just listened to it. Yeah, pretty good. They confirmed that Kate definitely definitely definitely is a member of the Oceanic Six.

Then hinted the last 2 members would be a bit of a suprise.

i saw that ending coming...

I so didn't! I totally got caught up in the trap they set.

That was a real FUCK! moment for me.

I loved that episode, the drama was incredible, the story was gripping, the questions were many.

There was a beardy man in the crowd that seemed to say something to Kate as she walked into court, he seemed to stand out from the rest of the people.

$3.2 Million is a specific amount of money. Ben questioned it, but we got no answer.

Why can't Dan remember what the faces of three cards are? He always seems quite a skippy character, is there a problem with his mind? Is it the Island that's done it?

Why is his name John Locke who's responsible for the well being of the island. Is this something Walt has told him, is Locke's quest to make sure the island stays together? It would make sense seen as though that's the roll he took on board with the number input in Season 2. He's taken the roll of caretaker for the Island.

Where did the chopper go?

We know Sayid gets off the Island, so it can't have crashed. Did it take the wrong route? Is it there, but they're not saying? Has the time issue with the Island kicked into effect?

How old is Aaron in the Flash Forward? 2? That's around 600 days after the current Island time (not taking into account any difference the 'Island Time' has offered.

This season is really blowing me away, it's incredibly well written and shot.

Cut and slightly changed scenes from The Economist.

I was delighted by a few key differences in the final version of The Economist vs the cut I was fortunate enough to see in advance of airing. For one thing, the time difference between the rocket and Daniel's timer was 31 minutes instead of 31 seconds, and we all know bigger is better.

Then there was the chilling exchange in the end. In earlier prints there was no mention of a separate incident where Sayid's heart fouled up plans. Nor was there a line "You want to protect your friends, don't you?" The result was a much more chilling and enigmatic scene.

There was one scene that involved Miles, Kate, and Sayid arriving at the perimeter fence though that was extremely interesting. I was surprised to see it cut, so I decided to transcribe it for you here:

The Fence Scene

From "The Economist"

MILES

What is this?

SAYID

A Security fence. When activated, the pylons

emit a high pitch frequency that will kill anyone

who passes through it. We used a tree to climb...

MILES raises his hand towards Sayid. He seems to hear something.

MILES

SHHHHHHHHH!!!

SAYID stops and watches MILES as he scans the surroundings, listening intently.

SAYID (Sarcastic)

I'm sorry, are we supposed to be

hearing something?

A beat passes and MILES is suddenly aware that SAYID had spoken to him.

MILES

I'm sorry, what?

KATE is examining the control panel.

KATE

Maybe I can shut it off.

SAYID joins her, bending over to examine the panel.

SAYID

And, how might you do that?

KATE

I saw Juliet do it once.

SAYID (Doubtful)

Without the code?

ANGLE ON MILES. He continues to scan with a slight twitch, similar to when we saw him reading the boys room in Confirmed Dead. Suddenly he walks through the pylons and turns towards an astonished KATE and SAYID.

MILES

Hey, I don't think its on.

KATE

And how did you know that?

MILES

Lucky guess.

MILES turns and walks away. SAYID and KATE exchange puzzled glances and proceed after him.

There's nothing new revealed in the scene but I thought I'd spoiler it just in case someone really doesn't want to see what's not been put out on TV.

Changes were made in a final edit before the show aired, but was released on a promo cut beforehand.

Still it's always nice to see some extra bits here and there.

Yea, I have to admit I at first fell for the writer's trick, but then immediately realised what was going on.

I think the thing that's frustrating in Lost is, the characters never seem to be asking the relevant questions... so far this season there's been no change there.

Perhaps he can see in to the future like Desmond and was trying to remember the cards from a premonition or something? He definitely has some sort of interest / connection with time as we saw in last week's episode.

Locke asked what the monster is...then got no reply. Atleast he asked though eh.

And Ben asked miles "why 3.2million?"

Its not that no one is asking...Its that nobody is answering!

I wonder if that whole thing was code.

The $3.2 million must be a code for something. 3.1 - 4.6 - 5.2 They could have a code system that relates to number patterns.

The response too could be another code.

3 Days, then a week.

Basically, is Miles (or Bruce lee from the Freighter) the insider here. His wanting to see Ben was to pass on a message, and get one back.

I didn't see the reveal at the end - I was expecting the kid to have long hair and a beard. When she said his name I was left open mouthed at that, fantastic stuff.

So do we know the full 6 people who got off now? I'm guessing Ben isn't one of the official 6, but has other ways off the island (portals?).

Loving this series - revealing lots, but still adding more questions. Excellent writing.

And I'm guessing Ben once stole $3.2m from Miles, or his employer?

Certainly sounds plausible to me.
