They're all about crude and deliberate misdirection! For years they always maintained there would be no time-travel involved with the show. Then when we started seeing Desmond shift about they changed their story to say only someone's conciousness could travel through time.

And now that we know better they've come out and said that from the inception of the hatch in season 1 they always knew that it was there because of an "incident" in the past, which the survivors themselves went back and caused.

Which is why I still don't believe them when they say "dead is dead".

That's outside of the show itself though, and is just for people who want spoilers. I like the fact that they lie to those people.

Which is why I still don't believe them when they say "dead is dead".

It was Ben who said that, they can always go back on anything Ben said, as it has been well established that he lies, and nothing he said can, or should, be taken at face value.

Christian actually is the Man In Black. He left the island, fathered Jack and Claire, and then returned to the island with them. That is why the smoke monster was at the crash site.

I actually quite like that crazy idea.

It's obvious that the Man in Black could take the form of dead people. He was Yemi and he probably was certainly Christian. Remember Christian is the one who told Locke to turn the donkey wheel and told him he had to die to bring the Oceanic 6 back. Though now he is stuck in Locke's body and can't change forms.

Lost_Simpsons_fanart.jpg

Killer fan art right there.

Someone needs to do a whole Simpsons-esque title sequence summarising the whole of Lost, incorporating elements of back story leading to the plane, then the plane crash, then on island shit, off again, time travelling, etc...

Anyone who did that would basically just be given the internet, right?

I just get the feeling that he's somehow important on a more fundemental level than the other smokey manifestations, what with the consistency of his appearances throughout the series, Claire identifying him as separate to smokey, the consistent focus on him in flashbacks and stuff.

When does she do this? :)

Except when he took on Alex's form and yelled at Ben.

In the newest episode, she is able to immediately identify that the man who enters the tent is "not John", which I would presume means that she is able to recognise him as smokey. However, during the episode when she is asked how she knows that the others took her babay she says that her father told her, and her friend told her. Now that we know that her friend is smokey, who she can differenciate from Locke somehow, it seems odd that she cannot differenciate Christian from a smokey manifestation of him. Obviously it could just be smokey manipulating her, and probably is, it's just because it's Christian and he's been treated differently from the other manifestations of Smokey previously that I think it might be relevant.

We are just assuming Yemi and Alex were smokey. I think they are fairly sound assumptions, but lets not start throwing them round as fact.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but we didn't see smokey transforming into either of them, did we?

Also, when Ben told Locke that his dead daughter had told him do do anything Locke said, Locke seemed shocked/surprised by this, and said (something like) "that's good, I was worried I would have to try and persuade you" (wording may be completely wrong, but that was the gist of it).

I do think Christian, Alex and Yemi probably were all Smokey, it's just there are a few niggles about it, so I'm not yet ready to take any of it as fact yet.

Well when Ben was 'judged' then he was surrounded by black smoke, then Alex appeared in the middle of it. So Flocke was clearly just taking the piss by acting surprised.

Totally, at that point Ben still thought Flocke was the real Locke anyway so it would have destroyed the story/tension if he just went 'Oh lol that was me'

I thought you saw images of her in the smoke, and then she appeared in the physical shouty form a moment later after the smoke had gone.

As I say though, I do think she probably was smokey.

Considering Yemi walked away and then Smokey appeared and killed Eko its safe to say he was him. Plus it makes sense why he killed Eko now. I bet he was interested in using Eko as a vessel but he failed so he killed him.

Nah, that was clearly a racially motivated attack. That's why the Others were so keen to protect Walt, and happy for Michael to take him off the island, they new the smoke monster was just a massive racist.

Its amazing Rose has survived so long (speaking of which, I can't wait for them to pop up on the island again).

I think they're the skeletons at the cave. They left them behind in '77 and they were old already.

This week...

Se6 Ep 6 - "Sundown" - Sayid is faced with a difficult decision, and Claire sends a warning to the temple inhabitants.

Not a spoiler as a such but anyway - Re: the advertising for this week's ep -

- the previews (at least the initial ones) revealed only very, very quick glimpses of scenes, half second stills almost, with the voice over saying that that was all they could show us.

If smokey kills someone, then why can't he assume the form of the dead person?

New episode:

HOLY FUCK! Things have been kicked up a notch or 12! I wasn't expecting much from the first 10 minutes (as neat as the fight scene was) then it suddenly turned into my favourite episode since about halfway through season 5.
