Guardian Heroes

I know this should realistically be in 'Ask the Forum' but I thought you guys would be better qualified.

I've got an eBay auction for 'Guardian Heroes' running at the moment:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...item=3082881086

The top bidder has emailed me to ask me to close the auction early if I settle for £60. Is this a good price for this game? Exactly how rare is it?

60 pounds is way over the top for the game, but as your the seller, go for it, you can normally pick it up for around 20 quid on ebay. Oh and its not exactly rare rare, very good but easy to get hold of if you know where to look.

Cheers. Amazing what some people will pay for a game.

I picked it up for a fiver!

That guy must be a nutter, or very rich and absolutely no patience when it comes to bargain hunting. But then isn't that half the fun of retro gaming?

Any idiot with an infinite wallet could put together a decent collection in a matter of weeks, the real challenge is building a collection without breaking the bank.

Anyway back to the subject I got a copy for about £8.00 a couple of years ago and really would't expect to see it for my than £30

Heh, wish some guy'd offer *me* £60 to sell Guardian Heroes - go for it! :P

[Oh, and bah: I knew I should have stocked up on them when there were three copies going for 8 quid at Gamestation, all them years ago... still, at least I have one <_<]

£45 plus for a mint Japanese copy with the reg card and the spine card.

Funnily enough I got a Japanese one in the post today, £15 for a near-minter+spine from a guy over at NTSC-UK

The JPN version can be found for £20-30 anyhow. I still don't understand the eBay UK mentallity, I constantly see titles going for up to twice what you can get them for if you use the "search items available to UK" function, its quite laughable tbh ;)

It seems like a pretty good game, nice and chaotic, with nice music and gorgeous graphics (which are poor by todays standards but have a lot of charm). I wish I understood Japanese as every once in a while you have to select an option which affects the path you take through the game, so I'e just been selecting random ones :D

I gotta try it out in 6 player sometime too ;)

I'd say 60 quid is a good price for it, but I haven't followed Saturn games of late.

:D I just read that post and though "60 quid, that's a bit steep you twat" then I realised that it was me.

Not sure what I was thinking, I'd say 40 - 50 is better.

;)

someone is going to be pissed when they find out it gets boring as hell after a weeks play.

Grrr...

You dare mock the greatest scrolling beat-em-up ever released? You shall feal my wrath, infidel...

Nice one! That is a fantasic price.

I think the pal version costs more because of the translation. The top selection at each "chose a path point" genrally gives you the most direct route to the end of the game. The end sequence changes slightly with each selection you make - which is a nice little bonus for extended play.

More than slightly! There are tons of different storylines and endings, depending on the route you take, and to unlock all the characters for the Vs. mode you need to have encountered them first by going along the right paths.

For me that was the icing on the cake, as Guardian Heroes is probably the most replayable beat-em-up I've ever played (plus its great fighting mechanic, hordes of enemies and RPG elements naturally)
