Dukesy

Recommended Posts

I'm currently getting a good speed FTP upload from Dukesy (thanks) and at the rate it's going will have the whole thing this evening. I'll be putting it on a Webserver for HTTP download. I will also seed a bittorrent when I can sort it out.

Nice one mate. I Might just wait for that then.

Never mind the massive amount of bandwidth saved by the person hosting the file  :)

Surely someone knows how to convert it to Divx thats got the disk? It'd be about 40 meg then. VCD to Divx is really easy in DVDX2, Nerovision, Tmpgenc etc

my torrent is still up and uploading

Are you leaving it up there for a while, I won't be anle to start getting this until I get home at 6ish.

Is this speeding up at all with other people getting chunks of the file, or are they being bad people and shutting the torrents down when they're finished ?

Downloading at 45k/s. Will seed when finished.

Just thinking, using MakeTorrent you can choose suprnova or a list of other places to host the tracker. Then upload it to suprnova.org. Might be a good idea to do that as well so that random people can get wind of it.

Wow, it's a pretty good first attempt actually. Low key but not overly cheap and people who actually know something about games. The legend sections were very good, who is the guy doing it? He looks a natural for tv, sort of like a scottish dom jolly but not annoying.

The reviews were very well done, Morrowind *yawn*, especially the Bujingai and Siren reviews, almost poetic in fact.

Possibly the Hitler section could have been balanced out with quotations from the torah streamed across the bottom in hebrew?

Overall: slaps on the back all round and I look forward to buying the next episode.

p.s

Any chance of subtitles for those of us south of the border? :)

Got mine this morning. Nice golden envolope :)

I enjoyed it a lot. When I saw it was nearly an hour long I was slightly surprised, and wasn't sure I could stomach so much constant game footage etc. But when it did finish, I was absolutely gutted. It felt so short; where's the rest of it sort of thing. Of course, it was the perfect length. That it seemed so short is just an indication of how much I enjoyed it.

The reviews were handled very well, and you certainly seem to know what you're talking about. Intelligent, without being pretentious.

Legend was great, as was the G-force guy, and of course the bloke who interviewed him. The Gamecube joke was very funny I thought, as well as the umm-ing and ahh-ing.

Hitler fell a bit flat I thought, and the wrestling wasn't as good as I was hoping (I was actually looking forward to that bit) but those are the only negatives I can come up with.

Really, really looking forward to the next episode. (I'll send some money your way this time :P )

Spoiler bit I guess.

"it's quite dark, but you can increase your vis... I'm doing Morrowind Game of the year mum"

:) I had to pause it while I stopped laughing.

Well, either Torrentstorm is shit, I've got it all configured wrong or this laptop is foobared because it's only showing 7 peers and it's going dead slow.

Something sounds fucked. I'm connected to 27 peers and 1 seed, uploading at 22k and downloading at 40 odd.

Have you opened/forwarded the 6881-6999 port range?

Both my download and upload speeds are crawling and varying wildly. I've got the standard Bit Torrent protocol installed as well as Torrent Storm, what's all this business about forwarding ports?

Can't wait to see this though, being a Glaswegianer myself; is this GForce section taking the piss out of someone who works there? I hope so, they really annoy me :)

Seems to be uploading ok - around 12k

Minimum port - 6881

Max port - 6999

Is that right? :)

It's an NTL 600k (128 up) line BTW.

Wouldn't the best way to distribute this be on Usenet?

Yes, yes and thrice yes.

Droo, that sounds like you're not getting any direct connections. Forward ports 6881-6889 to your PC's IP address.

Im using "shadows experiemental" client and running through a router. Any chance of a quick PM on how to open said ports?

Funny, mine was addressed to the wrong person too. And it nearly got thrown in the bin as a result. :)

The show is fucking brilliant. It exceeded all my expectations. It honestly is the video gaming programme I've been waiting on for the past 10 years. Intelligent, alive, witty, and not in the least bit patronizing. It's the first games show that gives gamers 100% of its attention without compromise. The reviews were all targeted perfectly, and I enjoyed them all - yes, even the Morrowind review. It's refreshing too to see game reviews that actually use the visual medium properly, instead of just using the gameplay video as a backdrop for someone to read out a print review.

In all, I can't wait for episode 2. Biglime and co, thank you very much for creating this. Congratulations, you've succeeded.

Later.

Connect to your router's HTTP configuration menus, go to "Virtual Server" or "Port Forwarding", enter 6881-6889 (TCP) and tell it to send them to your PC's IP. If you don't know your IP, run winipcfg (Win 9X). Don't know how to find it out in XP, sorry.
