Play-asia.com's Courier 'service'

I'm not going to go on some Stuart Campbell rant but i've just got to say what a frighteningly poor and nearly quite expensive experience I had with whoever is the courier for play-asia.com. The buzzer for the flat buzzed, I intercommed but there was no reply, I grabbed some clothes and hastily put them on and then ran to the top of the stairwell and saw a parcel outside on the street outside the door. I ran down the stairs and undid the door and grabbed the parcel. they'd left my order in the street because they didn't want to even stay around for 10 seconds or do something professional and write a card and take the package to the depot :P

My order could very well have been stolen, even 5 minutes from the time they just left it there. Luckily they left it at 8:30, if it was any later, nobody would have been there with nobody to be warned by the buzzer at least and it would have been taken.

Scary and extremely disconcerting.

If it's standard 1st or 2nd class, then that's what they normally do if it won't fit through the door.

If it's any kind of 'signed for' delivery, then that is terrible, but after my mate's experience of working for the royal mail, not that suprising.

My postman doesn't do this (and of course shouldn't) he puts a "the package was too big for your letter box" note through the door and I have to go and collect it.

Only people who have just left stuff was courier companies - they once left Steel Battalion with a neighbour without giving me any indication that it had arrived but been left with someone else. Fourtunately he turned up with a big box when I got home... thanks goodness for honest neighbours

My neighbour held on to a parcel of mine for about a month just recently. I had to call the post office to find out where it had been delivered to (recorded delivery).

I always get card through the door if it's too big.

However, the other week I was in the front room at about 8.20am and heard the post come through the door. I thought nothing of it, finished my breakfast and then wandered out to get it. There was one of the cards - "There was no one in and it's too big to fit through the door." Bastards! They didn't even knock!

As stuff usually arrives after I leave for work and there's no one in, I don't know if this normally happens. I was well pissed off as the sorting office is about 2-3 miles away from where I live. Arsebiscuits.

I know how it feels.

My postman used to leave packages outside my door without even ringing the bell. After I called the post office to ask, please, can your employee just ring and if noone's at home leave a note for me to collect it later (as is standard procedure anyway), the postman now just leaves the note without bothering to ring at my door. So even if I'm in, I'll have to go to the post office to claim my package.

How some people hold on to their jobs is a marvel to me.

What's the betting they just left the parcel at the depot, wrote out the "Sorry, you weren't in.." thing there, and dropped that through your letterbox because they couldn't be arsed to carry it around?

Not had a problem with my postman, save for him being rather late in knocking on my door at times.

Exactly the thought I had. If I run into the postguy I'll talk to him about it, maybe it helps for him to see there's a real face behind that anonymous address he's delivering to.

This is not the fault of Play-Asia, but the people who delivered it.

Check out this scary thread...

I'm sorry, I wasn't actually having a go at Play Asia themselves, moreover whoever the courier was(it said £3 signedbut not who was sending it). Thing is, if that's how everything will arrive, and it probably will be, i'm not shopping there again, in fear that my stuff will be stolen

I always get shitloads of mail, so I have a lot of things to sign for and collect and all that - one time when I was living in halls I went out to collect a package and sign for it, the postman said "who is this Ian Dransfield guy? He's a pain in the arse with all this crap he has delivered." - all the while I was busy signing and printing my name 'Ian Dransfield'. He quickly and quietly took his leave.

I'm alright this time around though - my flats have a reception that all packages are left at, and the receptionist girl is hothothot - win win!
