Just got an email from Play.com:

"Thank you for your pre-order of 'Unreal Tournament 2004 (DVD Version)'.

At Play, we do try ensure that all pre-release games are dispatched so that they are delivered on the day of release.

Unfortunately, on this occasion due to a supplier delivery problem we have been unable to do this.

However, all orders have now been now been dispatched and you should receive your copy in the next couple of days.

By way of an apology, we would like to offer you a £2 discount off your next purchase from Play.com. Please see below for details of your voucher."

So that's nice of them. Naysayers will probably 'pfft' at their day of release claim, mind :(

I just got the same email, but I only ordered it yesterday (& it was posted yesterday too). Bizarre

I ordered it for about 5 seconds yesterday and then cancelled it as I didnt know whether I definitely wanted it or not.

Got that email earlier as well, so have placed my order for £15.99 for it, with the £7.50 rebate voucher as well its pretty damn cheap!

I got this email also, even though I cancalled my order from them some 6-7 weeks ago.

I wonder if they have actually shipped me a copy :(

I'll say this for it, its fucking stunning in multiplayer. The netcode is smooth as silk and it even runs well on my Geforce fx 5200!. Excellant stuff, now if I could only get the hang of Unrealed...

How the hell are they going to improve it for the 2005 edition? I can run it totally maxed out on a Geforce FX5600. :(

the demo runs fine for me on my laptop. p4 1.6ghz mobile radeon 7500 [64mb]

it helps that the laptop has 512mb ram. so i don't see why it shouldn't run well on you're comp.

I had mine through the post this morning :) WOOOOO!

Played it for a while and I have to say that it's extremely playable. The specs are turned medium-high on my machine and it's not even batting an eyelid. I'm gonna whack everything to stupidly high when I get home and see what my PC thinks of it.

I can't wait :D

It scared the shit out of me when I whacked everything up full as for some reason my speakers were turned up full and upon selecting high for the last setting it decided to shout 'Holy Shit' at me.

Text-To-Speech is the world's weirdest feature when people (like me) hit Team-Say at inappropriate moments and end up "saying"

adsddddddwwwwddddddddddddssssaaaaassssss

Quite like how it translates "gg" and "lol" etc. though.

So - now that people have the game... are we playing it tonight?

Damn it! mine still isn't here from MX2. My mate doesn't have his from Play either. Is there anywhere that definitely has DVD versions in so I can cancel my order and get it tomorrow/Friday? Don't want to pay more than £19 though... :blink:
