Proud Gaming Moments

My son Connor is having his first system link gaming session this evening over his friends place.

He's convinced 2 Xbox owning mates to get together and buy a link cable for some multiplayer Halo and Counter Strike action.

I'm so proud.

I cant wait for days like these.

At the moment though no one seems to share his love for games in his yr. Yr 3

Then again I have set his standards really high

Halo 2 is still his most requested game, dont Bungie realise the heartbreak its causing.

"Whens it out Dad"

Autumn 2003 son"

"Dad wheres Halo 2"

"Its not out till April 04 now son"

"Dad its nearly April whens Halo 2 out"

"Son, We may see it this yr, We may not"

Is how I now answer him.

Is that Mini-Hitch?

I get confused.

Good work though, fella!

He was at the Jesus meet kicking Poets ass in the name of Yum.

He sodding wasn't! Getting a few cheeky kills is not the same as kicking my ass. I was gobsmacked seeing Yum's name up there with more than 3 kills to be honest.

My daughters aren't that fanatical about games but seemingly have been born good at them; one of them fully opened up MK:DD and can almost continually keep picking up and dropping off passengers in Crazy Taxi (played on arcade rules). She also keeps replaying and completing Klonoa 2 for some reason. The other (a bit younger) built up a veritable mansion in Animal Crossing and still pops in now and then. She's also a bit of a 1080 Avalanche wiz. Both of them are better than me at Super Money Ball.

Cool B) .

My three year old daughter Lili loves the original Mario Kart. She can complete a lap of Mushroom Circuit 1 on her own, which I think is pretty good for a toddler.

When she was younger, she would sit on my lap and hit the space bar when I yelled 'Jump!' during UT clan practices. If only I could aim properly, we would have made a pretty good team <_< .

Reminds me of the time when Kane (my eldest son) was about 7 and we beat Mario Kart on 150CC.

He'd collect the power-ups and take out anyone getting close to me. :D

He must think it's so awesome having a dad that enjoys games as much as he does. You rock dood. I've played Mini_Hitch at counter strike a few times and he's a hero.

My daughter is 4 and a half and all she plays at the moment is samurai shodown IV. Shes obviously a button masher (being a girl an all) and always chooses "the one with the orange scarf (Hanzo) cos she likes when the dog barks and he goes "hey Poppy!"

My 4 year old Son has just started playing Buzz Lightyear on the DC (he's a big Toy Story fan), and loves Hang On on the Master System. He can complete 2 laps of Daytona too.

Only problem is, his hands are just a bit too small for the DC controller to use the analogue stick comfortably. He does okay though.

Every Saturday morning, 6am sharp he bounds across the landing, dives on the bed screaming "Dad - can I have the game on!". I normally get in at about 4am, and this is my "welcome to the weekend" morning call.

My youngest is only 18 months, and he gets frustrated that he cannot play. One day my Son... all this will be yours.
