But i dont care about the ivy and how they are using sprites and texture's (ooo errr!) i want to know about new gameplay, like how he mentioned the shadows playing a more important role in gameplay. Besides i was agreeing to a post before its all just hype.

Hype to you maybe but these little details give an indication of the amount of work that's gone into the game, they're just tasters and as such they're interesting. I don't think there's many of us who didn't ooh and aah over the grass or other such details in the first game either, stuff like this is just icing on the cake. Details=good.

Halo was overrated. Halo 2 will be too. They're good games yes, just not amazing. imho.

Agreed. I liked Halo but i didnt think it was the best FPS ever made.

With Farcry setting a new benchmark for graphics, Halo 2 will have alot to live up to.

But only we care, mr joe public will go, Ooo guns, whats that piece of crap on the wall, oh a leaf. Yes its nice to have them and its nice to show they put hard work in, but lets hope they are putting it in the right directions, unlike Rise of the robots, great effort on the graphics guys, shame about the gameplay.

YaWdiB, if you have ever worked within the games industry (which i assume you havent but may be wrong) you'd know games dont get made like that. Even up to the last minute the game is being made, bugs being fixed etc. It sounds werid, but games are not made to work first then tweaked later with graphics and sound etc, its all done in one big go even days before its submitted for approval.

You don't have to be a "hardcore" gamer to appreciate attention to detail and art. What a stupid thing to say.

I think what he meant was that people are getting way over excited. We haven't seen any gameplay footage yet. Just because some art guy in Bungie is going on about the little touches that has been made dosen't make Halo 2 the best thing siince sliced bread.

Yeees, and in the original article it didn't, at any point, state that those things made Halo 2 the "best game evar!111", it was merely pointing them out as 'good things', yet people seem to be criticising Bungie for even putting them in in the first place, something that I disagree with.

Yes, they are only little things, not important to the game, but it's nice to have them.

Oh, and as YaWdiB pointed out, we have seen gameplay footage (though I'm not sure of what's been shown since last year's E3 stuff)

Where ONCE did i mention the word hardcore? I didnt, you assumed to much there, i said us, people posting on this board, you dont have to be hardcore to post on a gaming board.

In fact you could say people like us are the ones who appreciate attention to detail and art, but i never said the word hardcore did i?:P

He actually played what we were shown infront of an audience. Either that or it was a massave sham.

I don't understand why Bungie would do that, they already have one of the most hyped games ever, why lie?

Because everyone does it. Bungie is no different.

well i started it as a joke thread saying it's been delayed just to add hardcore ivy but then some people decided to be ivy haters.

i know people make rolling demos that are running on display machines but wasn't this one actually shown in front of an audience and the guy was actually playing it.

i don't know how people like Devilfish can say that Bungie are lying with no evidence. Isn't that liable?

so yeah little details make a world much more convincing. obviously DJ Sack would like the game to be played out with basic textures and no attention to detail.

my friends who aren't into games will coment on cool little things that they notice, heck even my mother has.

If the game was better than having sex with 2 ex lesbians smothered in warm chocolate then yes. If it looked like real life but it played like a turd at 1fps and no buttons worked well and enemies didnt take damage and it crashed every 2 seconds then id rather it didnt have the graphics.

Do you really have to go over-the-top all the time. Details are good.

yes well done pointing out a spelling mistake on a forum, have a turnip on the house.

shame you didn't give any proof that the Halo 2 demo was fixed though you libelous son of a bitch

fear my ivy.

edit - i'm taking away your turnip now and giving it to Sack for most obvious post of the week.

The E3 trailer was made specifically for E3. They said so themselves. XboxGamer seem to theink it's the first level but it clearly isnt. there's just too many unplayable bits(like the whole end bit on the ghost)

Just what I was gonna say.

Pretty much a concept level but by no means the final product. Too much of it was scripted for it to be 'halo'.

I reckon it wil be the most sequelly sequel ever featuring more of the same but this time they've actually been allowed time to make levels in the middle of the game rather than those crappy follow the flying voice of C3PO missions :P

Detail most certainly is good.

Look, quite honestly, if you liked the original, then little other than some sort of Nuclear Holocaust is going to stop Halo 2 from being better than the original.

Little less than the second coming is going to prevent Halo 2 from being pretty much more of the same, but tarted up to the Nth degree and newer, fabber graphical woo-woo.

And, with all due respect, it'll be a cold, cold, pig-flying day in the devil's kitchen before this game is anything other than great.

Don't panic Mr Mannering.
