had a brilliant game 4v4 with some japanese last night. worth trying, if you can speak even a little. my speaking japanese is limited (but i can understand fairly well). very interesting noticing the cultural differences.

apart from the occasional connection issue, and the interminable wait for a game to get going, this is the best live experience i have had by far. mainly due to the other players involved.

anyone just getting it, don't panic if you're not getting kills, i went 33 deaths before i got my first kill and 16 missions before my first win. once you start getting the hang of things, then things start to click a lot more quickly. also stick with those 1st gens, just the points you get for just hitting a 2nd gen will often compensate you for your vt losses. and just as long as you don't loose more than four, you're not going to be down many supply points.

i'll try and keep an eye on this thread, as i don't mind doing a bit of tutoring during a match if people want to arrange a newbie meet (i class myself as newbie-advanced currently).

EDIT: Also checkout steel battalion central forums, as they have some good newbie tips (http://sbc.pippin.us/forum/) and you'll see a lot of people you meet online there.

I played with this guy called Parias or something. He was awesome. When the match was finished I told him I had just got the game so he gave me some tips and told me about Steel Battalion Central. People are so nice on this game. If that would of been counterstrike someone would of probably shouted YOU SUCK down the headset. Or perhaps not. But you know what I mean.

Aye, he's supposed to be one of the best players in the game. Got him on my friends list :ph34r:

Yeah, can anyone tell what weapon someone was using against me? When he/she shot a purple ring would appear and also it would knock half my health with each hit (in a Decider). Whatever it was, I want!

Sounds like a railgun :huh:

;) Hey guys I will be up for some Online SB very shortly, just waiting for my copy to arrive in the post, so give me a few days to figure at least how to start the thing :P and I will def be up for some free missions etc., as my mate has really got me juiced up on this title...
