Nintendo DONT make games just for kids. Mario world had cartoony graphics but its gameplay was for everyone, same with yoshis island, mario64, zelda etc

TWW on the other hand has kiddie gameplay. THATS why its kiddie NOT because of the shading which was shite.

Even if it was just desinged for kiddies, as some sort of Zelda-lite (which I doubt was their intentions): so what? It brings more to the table. It might come across to you as "Zelda for beginners" but that's only because you're a Zelda veteran. I am, too, but was still able to enjoy the same great Zelda gameplay, all dressed up in it's cel shaded pyjamas of wonder and awe.

The sailing and the hunt for tri force shards didn't float my boat, the dungeons were easy and the game was a tad too short for my liking but I still enjoyed it a lot. Great gameplay and brilliant visuals, a great experience overall. I do think MM pisses all over it though.

TWW combat system is more advanced than OTT's as well.

Indeed.

Playing through TWW, I didn't die. Not once. Why? Hell, what an easy game, I thought.

Then I went back to OOT. Oh. Man. No wonder it was harder. The controls seem so disjointed next to TWW, for obvious reasons. The controls in TWW are pretty much the perfect controls for a 3D Zelda. Now, if they could have made the game a little less sparse...still highly enjoyable, though.

I cant believe there are guys here critizing link to the past... the greatest zelda game EVAR!

I remember playing TWW, thought it was a bit slow and boring, and then i entered hyrule castle and it was everything i wanted from a zelda game and my eyes lit up, i started playing through it and imagaining what the rest of the game was going to be like... maybe it inloved the player transporting between Hyrule and the sea above and the two worlds were linked somehow.

Didnt happen. Spent the rest of the game fishing for fucking map pieces. FUCKING WANK BILE!

Yeah I know what you mean.

Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time were almost flawless for their implementation of gameplay, graphics and gameworld size for the time in videogame history they appeared.

The time the Light and Dark worlds open up in LttP is still one of my most memorable gaming moments.

When TWW was released, with the supposed advancements in processing power and data storage inherent with this generation of consoles, I admit, I wanted TWW's main story thread to last at least four times as long as it did.

In my mind, if it could've been that much bigger, it would've, without doubt, been one of the most enjoyable and beautiful games in history.

Alas

Hopefully they'll rectify this in part two 8)

ps.The menu flicking to choose items WAS a pain at times, how about a Goldeneye/Deus Ex quick item select system? *drools*

pps.The Ocarina of time horse was called Epona wasn't it. Great part of the game.

Although I must say I was a bit apprehensive about the graphical style after seeing screenshots, this disappeared after seeing the game in motion. Stunning. I don't know how anyone can complain about the graphics. They just fit into the Zelda universe so snugly.

Although I don't think TWW was just as good as the N64 incarnations, I loved the atmosphere of the game. If they improve the gameplay some more then the next Zelda could be a real classic.

Sadly nintendo sold out to the kids. I hate to say it but TWW was made for kiddies rather than everyone 8)

Jesus the triforce shards bit was for kids? Fucking hell. I hated that so much. Andi only had one to get the ghost ship one, but it was never there i wasted 3 hours sailing and wiating for it to appear in the supposed spot (i checked a guide, asked mates) but it never fucking did.

I don't know why people always whine about Hyrule in TWW. I went down there, had a look around the castle, and that's all I expected. Did you really expect that Hyrulea land that by the looks of it would have been amazingly complicated and vast, and therefore by far the most impressive part of the game (in fact, probably be the majority of the game too) would not have been publicised by Nintendo at all? not one screenshot of what would be most of the game? Even despite this, by this time the game was clearly weighted to the above-sea-level world, so if Hyrule had been properly explorable, you would have had some incredible 1000-hours-to-complete epic.

If you went down to Hyrule expecting some kind of Dark World/Future Hyrule equivelent, you're very naive.

Nintendo should have done with TWW what they did with OOT and that was say 'We'll release it when it's done'. Instead I think they felt they had to meet a deadline and the game suffered as a result.

Blech, I found TWW to be really, really boring.

Trudging through dungeons, trudging across the sea, rubbish sneaking bits... made me wish I was playing Beyond Good and Evil.

I guess I should have expected that all really though, considering I don't actually like dungeon trawlers, RPG's or any of the previous Zelda games that I've played (LTTP and OOT): it's just not the kind of game I enjoy.

The graphics are beautious though (mind you, anyone who finds the 'emotion' portrayed on Link's face to be moving or owt when he leaves his gran is clearly deluded 8))

Three dungeons?* What, you mean like in both LTTP and OOT? Yeah, massively weighted, they had a couple of tiny islands and watchtowers on the surface and all. As regards expectations, personally I wasn't one of the people hanging off of every internet picture, but I was really, really expecting there to be some kind of twist.

* Well, four including the fortress, which is not only reused later but is broadly equivalent to the opening of LTTP.

It took a maximum of 10 minutes to the sneaking bit.

Not when you have no sense of direction it didn't 8)

(Took me an hour to deal with all the searchlights and get to the top of that flippin' tower, kept getting lost)

What a load of bollocks. According to all of Rllmuk, I hate Nintendo BECAUSEEZ HEE LIKEZX H1S XBOL1OcKKsZZZ BeTAAHr, but it's quite clear that Wind Waker is a good game. You're losing your touch Karantamatazz. This is almost as bad as the DC: Let's be unhonest... debacle.
