This must be one of the most misunderstood films of all time. It's brilliant.

No, I don't, and I'm not entirely convinced I've misunderstood it either. I will admit I wasn't paying attention to the whole of the film but the bits I did see just seemed absolutely shit.

Bloody hell; this thread caused some confusion for me just now. I knew I'd heard of Van Helsing, but I couldn't for the life of me remember what on earth it was. Then I remembered I'd seen Van Helsing, but I still couldn't remember what it was about. It was only through looking it up on IMDB and reading the plot synopsis and trawling for some screenshots that I can actually place that I have definitely watched it.

Not one that stands the test of time.

The effects are well shit, but if it's on and I can't be arsed moving about, it's a good waste of time. Not amazing, but loads more entertaining than most stuff on telly.
