What's wrong with the buttons? They're the same layout as pretty much every joypad ever.

The layout is there but they look like those crappy childrens LCD game toy thingies, they just look really cheap

Yeahh, like I said in the first DS thread (when everyone laughed and pointed at me )... the design will stay the say, but it won't end up looking like that.

I hope it isn't the final design, it looks like something 'quickshot' would have made in the early 90s.

Looks too chunky and plasticky at the moment. Screen looks too small as well in contrast to the rest of the unit. Actual size of the screen is probably okay but stick it in a great big bit of plastic and it looks small.

I'm sure the final design will be sexier. But for now, the things with this version that don't work for me are:

- the bevelled edges are way too chunky, makes it look cheap

- the d-pad is all wrong, looks like diagonals would be really tricky to hit

- the A,B,X and Y buttons look nasty, sharp edged, loose and plasticky

- the Start, Select and Power buttons look too small

- whatever material or finish the thing has looks minging

Also.. see the four depression around the top screen? What do you reckon they're for? My guess would be as locators for something that clips on to the unit.

Probably just for the clear plastick bumperthingies that stop the two halves getting into actual contact like on the sp.
