I have a copy preordered at Game but not sure if I'm going to pick it up next week or not yet - I need convicing or otherwise!.

So who's played it, whats it like and is it worth the asking price?

Its fun if you`re an absolute GT fanatic in the same way concept was, only its literally a bunch of license tests so its incredibly short. That said, the new tracks are absolutely stonking, and the handling is quite different initially. I`ve got some very crude vids of it up on my site, MGV, (http://sonic.animebots.co.uk/MGV) if you want a look.

Put it this way. If you love GT3, and for example have a favourite car and track that you pwn every now and then, it won`t be half the rush that you would get on Prologue round Citta Di Aria in the McLaren F1. Its really jsut a demo though, so its a case of would you pay £20 for a demo disk. Most people wouldn`t. I did though and was very pleased with it.

The McLaren, which is the fastest car in Prologue, has sommat like 500Bhp, but it doesn`t really shake loose, so you can`t steer the car on the throttle much.

So there's only licence tests? Is there any races at all and whats the 'making of' like, worth a watch. From what I've been reading from GT4's E3 coverage the feel of the game has changed quite a lot since prologue.

I'd happily say no, it's not worth it.

It will only keep you amused for a few hours and some of the license tests are unspeakably frustrating. Considering that's about all there is to do, that's a pretty strong argument for not bothering.

Yeah its jsut 5 sections of license tests. Prolly about 50 in total. Having said that, they are a lot more interesting than ones on previous GT`s, and are a lot of fun - have a look at the S2000 video on MGV (http://sonic.animebots.co.uk/MGV) for an idea. I particularly liked the Fuji one where you run a 10 lap race from a huge deficit and have to chase down the field, with a gold for winning, silver for 2nd, and bronze for 3rd.

You can race other cars, but only if you enable opposition on the time trial mode, and these races feature lots of the new cars (like the old alfa), but only as rivals.

As for the making of video, I don`t remember the japanese version having one other than the footage I`d already seen on gamespot of the 3d pit crews etc.

I beat GT Concept the same day I bought it, although I did enjoy it. As far the car list, well I have heard rumours of 500 cars and 100 tracks, I think that is seriously exagerated, I think the PS2 would struggle with that.

It'd be nice to have AI cars in slit-screen multiplayer, but if that is to happen then something has to be jeaopardised, graphics or car list... tough choice.

At least my favourite car is in there, the Honda NSX.
