To complement the 'song no one hates' thread, I was wondering what your personal favourite single is. Of all time. Ever. In the history of everything.

After some thought, I've decided mine is "Head On" by the Jesus & Mary Chain.

It's exciting, it's youthful, it doesn't outstay its welcome, it's a symbol of its times without having dated at all, and it generally brings a smile to your face, a tear to your eye and makes you glad to be alive. It's ace!

i have fond memories of Blue Monday by New Order. i had to save up a couple of weeks to buy it and of course the sleeve was amazing. the song itself is a timeless classic.
