C4's top 100 music videos

A quick scan of that list and some of the choices seem to be shit. No Faith by George Michael? Go West by The Petshop Boys instead of West End Girls? Busta Rhymes' Put Your Hands... getting the nod purely because it was a cash-fest, despite not being impressive, with Gimme Some Mo' being a far better and inventive video? And 21 Seconds by the So Solid Crew? Fuck off.

It's a list of contemporary shite with old "classics" chucked in to give the list some credibility. Dire.

Sabotage but no Body Movin'.

All is Full of Love but no Bachelorette. (sp)

Learn to Fly but no Everlong.

Firestarter but no Breathe.

Surely Karma Police or Pyramid Song should be in the Radiohead choices?

No NIN.

No Beck.

Not much hip-hop stuff.

Lots of 'ironic!' crap though.

What kind of fucking list is this? I can't vote for the Chemical Brother's Star Guitar (miles better than Let Forever Be and Setting Sun) and I can't vote for the Wong Kar-Wai directed DJ Shadow masterpiece Six Days :(

So what did I vote?

Aphex Twin - Windowlicker

Bjork - All Is Full of Love

The White Stripes - Fell in Love With a Girl

Fatboy Slim - Weapon of Choice

Massive Attack - Teardrop

The Prodigy - Smack My Bitch Up

I forgot to ask, how were they? Did they play 'Gabriel'? Did you walk off into the sunset with the girl?

They were terrific, I was actually surprised by how good they were actually.

No Gabriel, no girl because she had work, but still ace.

Did they do an encore when you saw them? I'm sure they were going to do one, but the divvy crowd had obviously never been to a gig before and sauntered off before the end, leaving them looking a little confused off stage.

I love Mia more than life.
