Freaks and Geeks

I download one and it is in 4:3 mode and I saw DVD boxset at playusa.com and it is 4:3

Is this a 4:3 show or there is widescreen version ?

its 4:3 mode show.

I believe that tv shows were not started to be recorded in 16:9 until about 2001. Freaks and Geeks was made in 1999/2000 so its 4:3.

An example for this is also the Buffy boxsets (dvd). Season 1+2 were full screen, but series 3+ onwards was widescreen. There is an interview on the discs (or i read somewhere else) that says tv production companies only started using 16:9 when dvd hit off, so that they could release on dvd in the future.

Cheers Graham,

I don’t give a damn ’bout my reputation

You’re living in the past it’s a new generation

A girl can do what she wants to do and that’s

What I’m gonna do

An’ I don’t give a damn ’ bout my bad reputation

Oh no, not me

Oh no, not me

I don’t give a damn

’bout my reputation

I’ve never been afraid of any deviation

An’ I don’t really care

If ya think I’m strange

I ain’t gonna change

An’ I’m never gonna care

’bout my bad reputation

Oh no, not me

I have torrent. Why can't people stick with placing them up on a website somewhere, like they used to in the good ole' days?

Actually I hate my work for blocking anything to do with Torrent - what a waste of a nice fast connection.

Rhetorical question? Direct downloads lead you more open to lawsuits and you have to pay for the bandwidth. Tyagi did the maths after the consolevania downloads and it would have cost a tidy sum to distribute them to everyone via HTTP.

The DVD boxset is well worth owning. There was a huge fan petition to get it released and it's bloody brilliant.

If only Dreamworks would of marketed the show to a nostalgic 20-30 yr old crowd instead of lumping it with teenybopper Dawnson's Creek type shit It might have been more appreciated at the time. :[

Anyone spot Max Fischer yet?

Just watched the first episode, having never heard of it before. Fucking painful at times, without getting (too) sickly. Plus very funny. Plus the woman is lovely (but hardly a high-schooler.)

Thanks!

I got to ep 12, but the bittorrent file is no longer on suprnova and the tracker url was apparently deleted bij the hosting company. The regular posting of the torrentfiles seems to have stopped too. I hope they find another tracker, but I'll get this on dvd anyway, great series. I already feel the same dissapointment it will end incompletely like Firefly.

I got 11, but half way through 12 I hit the same problem. Hopefully new files will come back on line soon: I'll keep my eye out.

Don't worry: the storyline isn't left hanging in an irritating manner: they left open the possibility to make more, but they tie up the series reasonably well.
