in your opinion. how far did you get and do you like rpgs? it was dark, funny and challenging. the graphics weren't so great though but it was a game like Animal crossing that started on a less powerful system. This is PS2 dedicated.

I enjoyed the first one, although the first hour or so I thought was awful. It ended up being an obviously-dated RPG but one which had a few nice touches and some decent local flavour. I'll keep an eye out for the second.

The original game was great, took the established recipe and added some weird things to the mix (like the timing based judgment ring, gay acupuncturists, several sexual references and of course the original Shloop Story).

Can't wait for this sequel. It might be the best non-bombastic RPG this side of Final Fantasy.

I think the original is excellent as long as you have a cd to listen to while playing it because the soundtrack has 3 whole songs on repeat :S

I didnt even know about the first game until a Midway rep came in and handed us some free copies ( in GAME ). I took it home and played it for near enough 12 hours solid .

The soundtrack is excellent, I bought it a while back.

And it really is great. For some reason - I can't explain why - I found it immensely compelling and simply couldn't stop playing it. Story was great too - I loved the Koudelka tie-ins, even though I'd only played about an hours worth of that.

Good stuff. Never finished it, must replay through that before the second one comes out.

I was enjoying the first one (cheers, Laine) until it did the shitty RPG trick of two bastard hard fights one after the other. Cunts.

I gave up in the end, to save my sanity.

I'll reserve my judgement on the sequel until I actually get to finish the fucking thing...

all I noticed was that in the fights there was just this 'ooohh ooh-eee ohhh... ooohhhOOHHH' song for half the game, then changed over to another one for the other half
