Dizogg, thanks for that now scurry back to OT

I spend more time than you in game discussion probably so NERRR.

Am I not allowed to express an opinion different to yours? Am I not allowed to like this game?

EDIT: 46% of my posts in offtopic to your 65%. RAARRRRRRRRR!

Can't you make a complaint?

Are consumer mags covered by the PCC?

http://www.pcc.org.uk/index2.html

The first points:

1 Accuracy

i) The Press must take care not to publish inaccurate, misleading or distorted information, including pictures.

ii) A significant inaccuracy, mis-leading statement or distortion once recognised must be corrected, promptly and with due prominence, and - where appropriate - an apology published.

Yeah but its not misleading or distorted information is it? It's someones opinion. Its not as if they are publishing false facts.

But many readers would have been lead to believe that they were reviewing the finished game. Instead they reviewed a game that never got released (Driv3r minus the bugs).

The hard fucking truth of all this driv3r bollox back and forth is that none of it will impact on the performance of the game at retail whatsoever.

The hard fucking truth of all this is that this is an industry whose main media coverage is sponsored heavily by its producers, to the point that the mags themselves have the tag 'official' blazed all over them.

The hard fucking truth of it is that the only reason that the mags matter at all is that their scores get included on the marketing posters and tv ads for games, and that is what sells the games themselves. Not the mags themselves.

The hard fucking truth is that the majority of the game buying public willingly buy into this structure, and that true enthusiast effort is always squashed under the foot of the rampant commercial forces when push comes to shove.

The hard fucking truth is that not only is their no integrity in any of the game industry's publications worth a damn (not even the highbrow ones), there is no call for integrity from the greater buying public.

The hard fucking truth is that the reason for this lack of a call is that the majority of games buyers are young, as impressionable as pop music fans, and the industry loves them and their predictable little ways.

The hard fucking truth is that people like Trading Standards have better things to be doing with their time.

The hard fucking truth is that magazaine game journalism is definitely going to die, and that the new powers in the market are IGN and Gamespot. Both of which are linked, and both of which are already deep in the cockpockets of the PR end of the industry.

The hard fucking truth is that the games industry's market is not you guys.

The hard fucking truth is that you guys are always going to be on the periphery, like literary types to the book industries, or rock afficionados, carping from the sidelines about the injustice of it all, because

The hard fucking truth is that nobodoy out there cares.

It's all true, except maybe:

The hard fucking truth is that the reason for this lack of a call is that the majority of games buyers are young, as impressionable as pop music fans, and the industry loves them and their predictable little ways.

The older gamesbuyers are just as guilty of this.

The use of -gate as a suffix on a scandal is only acceptable if the scandal involves taped evidence of some variety.

And the hard fucking truth is you obviously enjoy drawing attention to yourself otherwise you'd have posted this in a relevant topic.

Huge fucking winky smiley, ya miserable prick. :o

Guilty of predictability?

Older gamefans tend to be predictable+

Which means there are bedrock games that you can rely on them to buy into, but they will sometimes experiment beyond their strict range too.

We should all print these out:

driv3r_stickers.gif

and go into all GAME, HMV and Gamestation stores sticking them on copies of Driver 3. Except it's probably too late for that now.

(The stickers are linked to in Campbell's Driver 3 article, not sure if he did them).
