Who directed Blade? They should have got him imo, he does a decent superhero movie. But then Blad eis far more interesting than Superman. At least its not Captain America their making.

The first Blade? Stephen Norrington. Who also directed League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

Second Blade was directed by Guillermo Del Toro (who also did Hellboy) and the third is directed by writer David Goyer (who also wrote Dark City and Batman Begins).

[quote name='Caleb Newcastle' date='Jul 2 2004, 09:01 PM'] Daniel Ketch Ghost Rider or Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider?

And we're only having an Apollo & Midnighter movie if we can have Kev in it. Kev rocks... [/quote]
You read the latest one? The story behind the Tiger Incident is revealed and is as class as you might expect. Plus the last page exchange between Kev and his boss:

[i]"Fucking Hell, boss, haven't we got our own superheroes for stuff like this?"
"No, we've got you, God help us. Now stop whining and get on with the job."
"Yeah, that's easy for you to say, you're not the one who has to work with a couple of superpowered p--

...eople. I was going to say [b]people[/b]."[/i]

Of course he was.

Maybe if you're part of the dazzled Matrix generation. Personally I don't think Superman should be handled like an over-edited pop video (with or without 'throbbing techno soundtrack').

If the new Superman is sticking to the original concept it's going to need a much more human approach, there's no vengeance...he has no mandate based on revenge inside darkened clubland venues <_<

Call me old fashioned but it'd be a crime if the new Superman movie was just another CGI-reliant, instantly dated example of style over content aimed at 'da kids'.

Bay doesn't use slow motion that often though. Are you confusing him with John Woo? <_<

Didi you watch the first bad boys? Take the slo mo out of that film, and it's half the length! It is only one film, mind....

Bay can do decent films, but he needs strong actors and a decent script (like The Rock, which is by far his best film, and unlike Pearl Harbour, which was fine when he was blowing stuff up, by weak when he wasnt). If he gets those two in place, I reckon we'll have a decent film on our hands.

McG does over the top sillyness fine, but hasnt really done anything else other than music vids to judge him on. He likes his flashy camera moves, but I dont really think that they'd suit a superman film.

Yes i was dazzled by the (original) Matrix, i'm guessing from your post that you think that makes me a simpleton? And i wouldnt hold out much hope of avoiding you cinematic "crime".

Uh, so they want to do it in Oz to save a shitload of cash, and the director wanted it in expensive (but real) New York.

'Yay' for artistic integrity.

Shooting in Oz worked for The Matrix. And it's not just that. There were differcens about th location, the budget and the cast. McG wanted Beyonce as Lois Lane or something ;)

But there never seemed to be much artistic integrity about this project in the first place. McG, what were they thinking? It really is the opposite of the Batman Begins project. But as we all know: Batman pwns Superman. ;)

The Matrix wasn't country-specific, though. It didn't matter where it was shot as long as it rained a lot and looked gloomy.

Now, Superman, the most famous American hero? Shot in some shed in Sydney? That's silly.

And Beyonce as Lois Lane? Hot dang!

Metropolis isn't New York, it's fictional, so who cares where it's filmed? The only landmark you have to worry about is the daily planet building and you'd be making that anyway... Ship it to Oz if it's cheaper, just remember to change the signs and hydrants. And tell the extras to keep their mouths shut.

Anyway 90% of the time when you're seeing "New York" in a movie it's actually somewhere in Canada (Montreal I think... can't remember).

Beyonce as Lois Lane < Halle Berry as Catwoman ;)

I can't wait for the trailer!

IN A WORLD WITHOUT HOPE [cue bad guy destroying stuff], ONE MAN [cue crap rock music] WILL RISE [cue clips of random explosions] TO FIGHT [cue clips of Superman standing up all majestic like] FOR JUSTICE [20 seconds of Superman beating up bad guys]. THIS SUMMER, [race cars speeding down Metropolis] YOU WILL BELIEVE [superman takes two bad guys and SMASHES THEM TOGETHER] A MAN [shot of bumbling Clark Kent around Lois as bad guys ruin Metropolis in background] CAN FLY [shot of Superman outflying a train]!

SUPERMAN. SUMMER 2006.

Yes, because Lois is such a deep character.

She is in the comics. She was in Lois and Clark. She could be in the movie too...

Of course the first step towards that would be not casting fucking Beyonce ("I'm Foxy Cleopatra! Woo!" ;)).

She's a pulitzer prize winning investigative journalist blah blah blah... Ah fuck this. I'm lighting the Phelan signal for this particular argument...
