V3zna
It doesn't sound like a Prodigy album Utter rubbish. The Prodigy have a sound that nobody has ever replicated and this album has a refined version of that sound. It doesn't matter if you love or hate the album it has that Prodigy sound but undoubtedly with a new twist. Is it a simplified, almost too clinical sound now though? It has been well documented that Howlett now uses Reason and this is very apparent throughout the album.
Calashnikov
Oof. I got a phonecall from a mate who was phoning all his mates and he'd just phoned this one mate of ours who is a big Prodigy geek. He'd just downloaded this album and literally couldn't speak. Apparently he'd just shot all over himself. When he did make out some words, he said that it was so good that it made him cry. And then we're all like that: "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAANG!" Prodigy fans: saps.
Juria
I first read it that he 'shot himself' that would have been more suiting. In a mockumentary Nirvana fans way.

Prodigy fans: their virgin balls are like boulders. They don't wank much either. The only wank over new Prodigy albums.
monkey.
waste your money rather than download it and try it? Isn't it harder to work a couple hours for the money you'll waste than spending a minute clicking on a site and going off and watching a movie? It doesn't sound like a Prodigy album, it sounds like a generic badly executed prodigy-esque rip-off that doesn't sound that much like a prodigy album otherwise it would be half decent I'll take the chance. I've heard clips here and there and I like what I've heard. If I hate it that much I can always take it back. If I was still a student and couldn't afford to waste the money then fair enough, but I'm not and I can so it doesn't really bother me.
hobo
The Prodigy peaked with Jilted Generation, then. Amen. This pales in comparison.
Hitcher
The Prodigy peaked with Jilted Generation, then. As much as I like some of the tracks on this new album I'm beginning to think you're right. Nothing can compare to 'Music for the Jilted Generation' IMO. I love everything on this album but the highs for me are Voodoo People, Poison and No Good. kev
this album is good. not as good as jilted generation, but then, very little is. if i hated every album that i didn't think was as good as that, i'd probably hate every album i have. apart from that. which would be silly. i like this. gravity0
I'm really liking the first 6 tracks, but it sort of goes a little 'off' after "Wake Up Call". I'd buy it. Action Radar and Shoot Down are terrible.
InsideOutBoy
First listen it was a bit "meh". Third listen I'm starting to like it. Some songs are very good. There are more obvious Prodigy singles on it than Girls. 'Spitfire' and 'Get On Get Off' are great. There isn't a sound quite the Prodigy and it's nice to just hear it again. The beats are great. It doesn't live up to 7 years of waiting, but if looked at in a vacumm, it's decent enough stuff. A definite grower. Liam Gallagher kind of ruins the last song though. And 'Hotride' sounds like a No Doubt song or something. Yuck.
PopeSmokesDope
And 'Hotride' sounds like a No Doubt song or something. Yuck. Hotride is excelent.. "up , up and awaaaay, in my beautifull, my beautifull ballooooooooon"
Yewone
Its definately growing on me. Listened to it a few times now. Ive totally changed my mind about "girls" think its actually one of the better tracks (its just the intro im not sure about). "Hotrides" another goodie." ...but like weve all pretty much said. Its still not as good as their previous efforts.

Andy_Tanner
it's a fucking mess really. there's nothing to match anything they've done before, and considering Fat of The Land had it's fair share of filler (Narayah anyone?) compare the opening track on this ,Spitfire (probably the best thing on it) to Smack My Bitch Up and it's clear that he's trying to relive past glories. you simply cannot step back into the ring with an album title like that without the material to back it up. what the fuck is he thinking? InsideOutBoy
It keeps growing on me. There's something about it that keeps me hooked despite the fact it doesn't scream brilliance from every pore. Having now played it in the car and with friends the album is starting to shine a bit. It’s certainly no worse than Fat of the Land was.
Vemsie
What's your favorite Prodigy song of all time? Me, I'll think about it. I really dig Climbatize, No Good, Out of Space and Their Law (which is probably my fave).

Having now played it in the car and with friends the album is starting to shine a bit. It’s certainly no worse than Fat of the Land was. The strange thing is, Jilted was exactly the same when it came out. I'm really really starting to love this album. The flutes on "Wake up Call" are Genius. I hated some of the stuff on Jilted at first, I loathed Poison (Now my fave Prodge track) and thought the three tunes in the Narcotics suite were tacky... Trust me, this is a real grower! InsideOutBoy
to my ears there's no Smack My Bitch Up, Breathe, Firestarter (i mean COME ON!),Funky Shit... I think this is just a different kind of Prodigy album. Howlett said Fat of the Land was basically designed to be played live. This one is more of a studio album. But Firestarter will always be ledgendary.

It really represents them as a live act. This is different. Its all new. In much the same way as Jilted was new and a completly different direction to the stuff they had done on Experience. jeff mills gran
What tanner said. Its a bloody mess. I fully expect bands/artists to grow and change with time, but this just sounds half hearted at best and generic tosh at worst. As a record it could be better, as a prodigy record and taking the prodigy's track record of being (and lets be honest) fucking ace, its *very* poor. Hodge
Listened to it a couple of time and still think it`s crap. I quite like the Girls track and can see it being the first single on the album but the rest of the tracks are plain aweful. Half of the stuff sounds like it`s been made up on dance ejay and simply don`t have the polish of there previous work.
