And then there's Spitfire and Girls, which are both quite catchy to my ears. But, as far as I can tell, the rest is a bland waste of time.

The electro-ey intro to Girls is pretty great but it goes way downhill after that. shit video too, IMO.

And who was the band that did A Trip to Trumpton? Another school classic. I haven't heard that since it came out. I bet it's a whole lot shitter than I remember.

That's Urban Hype. The B-Side of that record (different title but essentially the same tune without the shitty Trumpton samples) is far better, and it still remains a great tune.

Nothing will ever beat the first album. That was a defining moment in my musical taste. Only Charly and Everbody in the Place are not upto classic standard. Whenever I hear the opening of Weather Experience it makes me get goosebumps.

Trying to compare AONO is a thankless task. IMO each subsequent album released has had a lower number of top quality tunes on them. From the latest, I would say Girls and the The Way It are of the top draw. That Thriller sample just kicks.

Well I finally got hold of it and in some respects it's hard to form an opinion. I was happy to find the BMW ad music was one there, as I'd been wondering what that track was for a while (someone did actually tell me now I think about it, but I forgot so it was a nice surprise!). Really like Spitfire and Girls and even like the Gallagher track, although his voice sounds shit. What I don't like is the Punky vocals that seem to run throughout every other track. I just find it too grating to listen to. The album also seems 'slower' than the previous efforts and there aren't a lot of truly memorable tracks. Even You'll Be Under My Wheels is curiously missing something without the visual of the advert to back it up.

It absolutely sounds like the Prodigy, just a bit different, evolved. Which I'm thinking is a good thing and is certainly in keeping with how they've moved between albums in the past. All in all I can see this growing on me a lot, and I already seem to be listening to it quite a bit.

And at least I don't have the utter gut-wrenching disappointment I got when I bought the final Orbital album. After 7 years of expectation building, I'm quite relieved.

PS - thank god Keith's gone, he was really starting to get on my tits when Baby's got a temper came out (love the instrumental though).

Just listened to it and thought I'd add my six pence worth, apologies as I've shamefully neglecting to read many of the previous posts.

What a lazy album.

For something that's been seven years in the making, Howlett might as well have not bothered. Souless, uninspired, generic pish.

That includes Spitfire too.

' date='Aug 11 2004, 09:20 PM'] I'm enjoying this album myself. Definately a grower. By no means is it The Progigy's greatest album, but it's far from being their worst either. When you think about it, Experience and MFTJG are difficult albums for anyone to match. But it's miles better than TFOTL.

He speaketh the truth.

Not sure about the rest of you though. Spitfire is one of the worst tracks and Girls is the best. Got 'taters growing in your ears or something?

FUN FACTS: MY nan was in a car crash with Liam and I was once behind Leeroy in the queue at Safeway.

Girls is a great track, but the rest is a lil' duff.

He's lost his aggression.

Come back R. D. James.

Sad but True

Not so true. Kool Keiths latest outing have been a lil dire though but thats for the Hip-Hop thread.
