The Biglime Action Fifty

I've always wanted to see this but it's never been cheap enough and my local Blockbuster is crap.

Is it a straight actioner or does it try to be deep with poorly researched Samurai lore?

It has a comic edge and focuses on honour. It's a playful action film, but I can imagine some people disliking it. Especially if you're particularly critical or cynical about plot structure.

Nice suggestions everyone- and one has even made it in!

BIGLIME'S ACTION 50

1. Die Hard

2. Aliens

3. Big Trouble In Little China

4. The Hidden: This film opens like a bastard, and never lets the pace drop. Ultra-violent, ultra-gory and uber-eightiestastic, this little-seen cult classic has inspired many a Hollywood action movie. Kyle MacLachlan is, as always, great to watch.

5. Con Air: Some people just don't 'get' Con Air. Those of us who do know of a movie that stands up to multiple viewings, makes us laugh so hard curry comes out of our noses, and features one of the best big baddie exits of all time.

I really liked that. Most people I've met hate it. Die Harder was the worst, easily.

The only bits I didn't like in Die Hard with a Vengence were when they had to work out those really old riddles that everybody in the whole world already knows the answer to.

Con Air's quality, but The Rock is better, by far.
