Patience Stebbo! I only got time to listen to it again yesterday, and am only getting time to reply now. Apologies for not spending every waking moment on the internet. I'm lucky I found time to make the CD :P

The best out of what I've not heard before is/are:

5: ludes – she was just a girl

18: my drug hell – girl at the bus stop

17: symposium – drink the sunshine

8: rialto – untouchable

1: uresei yatsura – Kewpies like watermelon

But having so many tracks on it that I'd heard before made it much easier to listen to.

The bestest of all was:

10: ooberman – snakedance

Fantastically OTT :(

biggerbob- this is definetly NOT the final version.
Are you sure? The track times match identically with what I have here.

(I must have meant 14 instead of 13 above... track 13 is the six second one on the CD)

Anyway,

4. !!! - Intensify (6:54)
That would explain why that's the only track on the CD that I don't like. I can't stand !!! :)
6. Pretty Girls Make Graves - The New Romance (4:10)
Hmm... I really liked This Is Our Emergency as well. I don't know why I haven't check these guys out more...
15. Secret Machines - Nowhere Again (4:16)
Ah, I just got the full album of this off a friend this week, so that would explain why I thought I'd heard it before.
19. TV On The Radio - Satellite (4:33)
Is this from an older CD or a b-side? I thought the Desperate Youth... CD was great, so it's good to hear more stuff by them.

It's from the 'Young Liars' EP they released last year. It's a great song, but they probably didn't put it on the album beacause it just didn't gell with the rest of the tunes.

Also, what (if you haven't heard it before) did you think of the Gescom/Cyne tracks?

Mine arrived today. Not stuff I would normally listen to, at all.

Havn't listened properly yet but I think Ill like the 2nd half more than the first somehow. The Furtado/Tricky track looks very interesting to me.

Ill give proper impressions tommorow.

Yes, apologies for the rather intense drum & bass at the start of the CD. It chills out the further you go. The Oakenfold/Tricky/Furtado tune is fucking immense.

The ravetastic track made me giggle, but it's no use at 3 in the morning, man. ;)

I'd never heard much Luke Vibert stuff before, so was pleasantly surprised - I expect something more harsh. Cool.

The Low track is my favourite - they're a band I'd always meant to get a hold of but never got around to. That track has blown me away. Sooo warm.

I liked the second Cyne track more - not the stuff I usually listen to, but still enjoyable. The same can be said for Gescom - kinda low-fi, but I liked it's progression.

Yeah - its probably the best one track on it.

I really don't like the first 3 tracks, The cassius tracks are OK, but things get really good from track 8 onwards.

Papua New Guinea - FSOL is very absorbing. Is it from the first wipeout game cause I don't recognise it?

I like Air anyway, but hadnt heard either track before. The 2nd one reminds of Beck for some reason. A suprisingly good remix of a Charlatans tracks that flows perfectly into Martin Grech (shouldn't finished here really I think :( )

Much better than I initially anticipated. Cheers.

And here a list of who send to who:

jrisgod->Futureshock->Duncan->David Heath->Nada Surf->jeff mills gran->Looper

->michael->ukdas->ME->Stebbo->McNeillR->biggerbob

Thanks to everyone who took part this month.

1. Telefon Tel Aviv - John Thomas on the inside is nothing but foam

Always wondered what this lot sounded like, now I know and I like it

2. SchneiderTM - Reality Check

Like this a lot, again haven't heard much of their music

3. Boards of Canada - Davie Addison

Love BoC, love this

4. Karsten Pflum - Falls

Beautiful track

5. Lusine ICL - Tonic

Never heard of this artist/band before?

6. Luomo - Tessio

Love how this builds into a lovely house track, very nice indeed

7. Christian Kleine - Quentin

Gorgeous :)

8. The Cure - A Forest

Loved The Cure since the 80's, and it's one of my favourite Cure tracks :D

9. Múm - Green grass of tunnel

Like it!

10. Theorem + Stewart Walker - Recoil

Windows down, volume UP! :D

11. Static - Give me your loving

The weakest track on the cd, but it'll grow on me no doubt

12. Donnacha Costello - Always A Part

Another lovely track :D

An excellent cd especially as it includes loads of new artists, I've never heard before. My to buy list has just grown longer, cheers! :D

Cheers to Nada Surf! its far-removed from my normal tastes, but i like it!

Glad you got it OK!

I decided to go for down the 'one genre' root, and I'm not sure it paid off. I think I'll do something with a bit more variety next time just to spice things up.

:)

mine came yesterday - very good indeed.  The cure's the forest seems a bit out of place though! :D

I remembered thinking the Cure was a dangerous addition (in this context). After Mr Do's ego-boosting comments :), I gave the whole thing a blast again.

I know they're twenty years away from everybody else on the CD, but I figured the 4/4-esque track shows just how cool they were.

So there ya go - it's not 'meant' to be there, but it does fit if you think about it in a funny, round-about, fucked-up kinda way.
