Most emotional scene?

Whats the emotional scene from any movie/program that you have seen?

I have to say for me its the last scene (if not the last episode) of gunbuster. Two heroines sacrifice their right "to live in the same lifetime as those they love". A friend says to them before setting off the bomb "when you return to earth we'll be there to say hello".

A few thousand "earth years" later they return to earth in a battered gunbuster mecha . As they approach they contemplate whether earth still exists. As the approach the dark earth, all of a sudden lights down below start coming on spelling out "hello".

Doesnt make much sense but you to watch all the episodes :)

In Unnatural Sex 92 (scene 3), when Gauge takes three loads in her face at the same time while being double analled from behind, and she says "Ooh yeah, fuck dat ass" is clearly the most emotional piece of cinema ever made.

Oh yeah...

I've gotta go with the Abyss, when Bud and Lindsey are trapped in the broken sub with only one divers suit and Lindsey elects to drown, so Bud can carry her back to base and try to revive her. Amazing scene, really fantastic acting by Ed Harris as he literally bullies her back to life.

Well...

Several parts of Forest Gump.

Must also say Bambi actually. I went to MGM studies last year and they show you clips from films. Pretty much everyone had a tear in there eye when they played that part.

i cant think of more. The death of Buffys mum i guess, plus i wasnt too happy when Fred died in Angel, cos i fancied her so much. Still at least she came back as that dirty blue bitch.

Funny. I was just reading this thread over at CHUD.com this morning and thinking of starting the same thread here.

My contribution to that thread was the 'Hand or foot?' scene from City of God. Truly disturbing. You really feel for those little children.

The Abyss is a good one as well. And the end to both Bullet in the Head and The Killer.

Robocop returning to his house and having flashbacks to a life now gone is another one.

The end of Its a Wonderful Life. I always blub at that. Its lovely, especially the bit when he's running through Bedford Falls.

"Merry Christmas Bulidings and Loans!"

One of my favourite scenes in any film ever ever ever.

Yeah , thats one of my favourite scenes too.

The last 20 or so minutes of the Shawshank Redemption are pretty emotional, probably my favourite scenes from any movie and really gets me every time I watch it.

The end of the Killing Fields.

And ,ahem, the end of Terminator 2 :)

I cried like a girl at the end of that... With the thumb and everything :D

Another is the scene in Cinema Paradiso where Toto watches all of the edited kisses at the end. There are quite a few emotional scenes in that film actually, it's one of my favourites of all time.

That's the end of Requiem for a Dream not Lost in Translation :)

I know, foo'! I skipped a line to denote the fact that I was moving onto another film. :D

Although the thought of Scarlet Johansson engaging in a bit of the aforementioned (NOT with Bill Murray) isn't all that bad a prospect, eh?
