Having played the utter pap that is Res Evil Outbreak - I think the change of direction for Res Evil 4 can only be a good thing. Its got a great "Village of the damned" feel about it.

Personally I cant ruddy wait ;)

Originally I was very apprehensive and didn't like the look of it at all, this was before any videos had been released. But now I'm hugely excited and the videos have become like some sort of gaming porn, just waiting for the threesome between Gordon Freeman, Master Chief and Leon.

We have not made any announcements regarding the exact release dates or months for these products. Both of these are still considered 'Winter.

Taken from gamespot, it all seems to have come about because EB games and Gamestop changed the date on thier site not because of anything official.

Taken from gamespot, it all seems to have come about because EB games and Gamestop changed the date on thier site not because of anything official.

From Gamespot:

RUMOR #5: Resident Evil 4 and Killer 7 have been delayed until 2005.

Source: Product pages on EBGames.com and GameStop.com.

The official story: "We have not made any announcements regarding the exact release dates or months for these products. Both of these are still considered 'Winter.'"--Capcom USA spokesperson.

What we heard: The product pages went up. The forums started a-hoppin'. The e-mails went out. The official denial came in. The tired reporter shrugged his shoulders, shook his head, and moved on....

Bogus or not bogus?: Who knows.

yeah -- i'd say we're looking at a jan release date.

Will you be able to kick in a wooden door rather than wandering around for weeks trying to find a key??

Can you step over a fence the size of a gnat's chuff rather than having to wander all over the place to get to the other side of it??

I'll probably get this if the reviews turn out good. I lost confidence in this franchise after the release of RE3: Nemesis but RE4 looks like it'll bring something new to the series. Maybe not for the better but I am still hoping!

The adventure aspects make the series superb though

If it's all action, action, action - it'll be a step backwards IMO

I really can't wait – this excites me just as much as anything else on the horizon at the moment. I'm a huge fan of the Resident Evil series to date, but this change in direction has me stupidly excited. The footage I've seen so far looks superb, and it'll be interesting to see how the game 'feels' now that they seem to have upped the pace somewhat.

I really do like the RE series but I think they only hit the nail on the head with RE2. I never was much of a fan of the flaky controls so I'm quite glad of the new direction they're taking for RE4 - the series was beginning to get a little stale. RE4 seems a bit diverse, different and definitely one I'll be keeping an eye on, though it's looking like slipping til '05  Maybe just as well with all the other A+ stuff due before the New Year.

Yep, and it was only £10 last time I saw it in WHSmiths!

I should really give this a chance, although REmake bored the pants off me, which was odd because I devoured the other RE titles on my DC.

I think it helped that I started with the mighty Code Veronica.

RE4 though.... ;):D:(

Wow.

After watching that trailer I have to say I am very much looking forward to it. The new weapons look great fun (Uzi, anyone?) and the new enemies - particularly those hooded skeleton things - look fantastic. I can't wait to destroy some scenery with the rockets, too. Visually it looks stunning, and I'm hoping it will be able to keep maintain the same level of immersion that the original one had (and Zero as well).

So yes; I am looking forward to this. And this was my first Gaming post for quite some time!
