Yep, that's the one I think. Hardhitting breakbeat house track. I'm currently hunting so I'll e-mail it to you if you fancy.

Yep, that's when I got out of the house scene. The glowstick boys turned up, broke house into definable sections and had separate events for each style. Totally ruined the whole eclecticness*

*possibly not a word.

Oh, also throw 'Let's Get Brutal - Nitro Delux' in there for pure nostalgia.

"You da man"

Thats the problem for people like me who used to hoard radio and event tapes you never got any track listings which if you did would have been a boon in todays music sharing internet.

Most of my old tapes were ferro ;) and are sounding decidely dodgy today(if I'd only splashed out on chromium

P.M me if you get hold of it as its an all time classic"comin over with this vibration" was a line from the song if I remeber correctly so if thats in the one you mentioned I'd be much obliged.

Thats because it's a Techno track.

bollocks. energy flash was released when all house music was simply classed as house. before they decided to split it into stupid genres like techno, garage, jungle, etc. it was much better in those days cos you'd hear all diferent kinds of tunes and not just a single style of music from a forced genre.

Guest Cecil McBee
A Guy Called Gerald is one of my all-time favourite producers, but for far more than Voodoo Ray.

Black Secret Technology isn't just the finest Jungle album, it's the finest 'dance' album ever made.

the hairs on the back of my neck still stand up when i hear that.

I'll consult you via Private Message for an 'OK' prior to any further posts.

Don't be so fucking stupid. All I was saying is that there's a lot more to A Guy Called Gerald than Voodoo Ray. It wasn't a personal jibe man.

So it's Tech House then :(

Zeroborta mentioned it above - Satoshi Tomiie Ft Kelli Ali. It's definitely a memorable tune.

Right, I've been digging deeper:

Orlando Careca vs The Cosmonut - Ceramic. A hypnotic little number with very little going on. Subtle, though.

Schiller - Ruhu. Turns me into a space-cadet each time I hear it. One to just stop what you're doing and just stare at the celiing with.

Trancesetter - Roaches (Peace Division Mix). What a fucking bassline. "Underground will live forever baby. We're just like roaches. Never die, always living. And on that note, let's get back to the program." :(

Saints & Sinners - Pushing too Hard. So, so simple. I'm grinning like a nutter just listening to it for the first time in years. (Needs more volume. Yay!)

Loudeast - Lights Off!. Probably my favourite house track.

i can't believe no one's mentioned energy flash by joey beltram yet. the best house tune EVAR.

My mate used to be the resident DJ in a gay club in Manchester (years back), and one of his tricks was to play Energy Flash with the acapella of "I'm Your Man" by Wham over the top.

Works a treat!

hmm.. i'd go for eddie "flashing" fowkes "sex in zero gravity" for a wicked tech-house classic... detroit in effect!!!

and energy flash was way more hard techno than house if i remember correctly

Going off on a bit of a hed kandi tip:

Kiss Kiss Kiss - The Ananda Project - Soulful, laidback house, equally at home on the beach as at the end of a night out

Put Em High - Stonebridge - Proper hands in the air disco house, which deserves to cross over when it gets a CD release later this year

Empty Streets - Late Night Alumni - Another great end of night track

Will I (Discover Love) (Mediterranean Vocal Mix) - DJ Chuus & Concha Buika - Only just heard this, but I reckon it's destined to be a classic

I could go on and on, but I'd better stop :)
