I'm kinda leaning towards the fact that I liked it. Of course Affleck can't really act but most superheroes don't exactly have multi-faceted personalities anyway. Saw the film on Sky tonight. Some excellent fight scenes (slightly ruined by the so-so CG) and some nice one-liners and jokes. Not a bad night's entertainment IMO.

I know this is just going to look like more Laine-baiting, but I honestly hold this as an opinion-

The film wasn't bad until Elektra turned up. Utter shit from that moment on. And Jennifer Garner was just terrible.

Pretty poor film, to be honest. Although, Affleck wasn't actually that bad.

The start was good when he threw the rapist in front of the train. However, 'Let's go to work', the entire rubbish sparring in the playpark, the continual use of Daredevil's pretty-much nonexistent silouette and the shoddy climax that made no sense what-so-ever turned this into a piece of shite.

I still like it; at least it was better than Hulk. But then again; I do like some right shite.

INT. COURTROOM

BEN AFFLECK and USELESS PARTNER JON FAVREAU question a

RAPIST.

                        BEN AFFLECK

            Did you rape anyone recently?

                          RAPIST

            Nope.

BEN AFFLECK uses his DEVIL SENSES to know he is lying.

                        BEN AFFLECK

            You sure?

                          RAPIST

            Yep.

                        BEN AFFLECK

            Damn, foiled again! No further

            questions. You'll get yours, rapist

            scum.

The RAPIST goes free.

INT. SEEDY CLUB TYPE PLACE

BEN AFFLECK IN STUPID COSTUME shows up and sleepwalks

through a fight scene with bad guys. We're repeatedly

treated to the BLINDCAM shot, which is already overused. BEN

chases the RAPIST into a train station, where he throws him

onto the track.

              BEN AFFLECK IN STUPID COSTUME

            See that light at the end of the

            tunnel? That's not heaven - it's the

            C-Train!

                (pause)

            Jesus fuck, I'm an Oscar-winning

            screenwriter and I just actually

            said that.

                          RAPIST

            You know, maybe you wouldn't have

            to kill people at night if you were

            just a better lawyer. For example,

            if I'm lying on the witness stand,

            maybe you should try proving it

            instead of assuring me that I'll get

            what I deserve eventually.

Bad:

Jennifer Garner

The Guy who plays Kingpin (somthing michael? - Can't be bothered to look it up)

Jon Pantoliano - He's in it for about 5 seconds!...Whats the point!

*But then I love The Hulk (Apart from the ending in the lake) so what do I know?

Good pint. If you get Joey Pants, make sure he gets a lot of screentime. He's da bomb in The Matrix. And Bound. And many others things no doubt.

I'm interested to know if the director's cut, which is apparently a completely different film, will ever see the light of day.

It is getting a release. I think they are calling it Daredevil 1.5, similar to the X-Men 1.5 effort.

I've often defended Daredevil on this site.

I thought it was a great film. I like Affleck and think this is one of his best roles.

Garner is a bit up and down in her role, but I've always fancied her and can forgive a little bad acting!

The effects are OK, the tone is just like Millers' Born Again and the script is good.

Of course, Kingpin is pretty dire, but you can't have everything.

I started watching Hulk again last night - about half way through. Very good IMO, both Bana and Connelly are extremely good in their roles.

I'm going to buy it on DVD this week, and buy the 1.5 version....just to piss you off....

Jeez, it's not a bad film, and not every comic adaptation can be a work of genius. There are far worse films out there to vent at. Charlies Angels 2 for instance, or The Perfect Storm.
