I like how the more accessible tracks are at the end of the album, so you get into the less accessible ones, but still listen to the rest of hte CD.

Pretty good I'd say.

New Mastodon is worth getting, although I'm not so sure it's as good as Remission. More accessible too, wouldn't ya believe!

Sow seck me cerk.

One of the only bands in the world who can add legible/singalong choruses, backing vocals and guitar solos to their new album, yet retain all of the grindcore reputation.

Anyone who has heard them and likes them, or has heard them and doesn't like them needs to see them live (if you haven't already, of course). They're a force to be reckoned with on stage. Not a festival band, you need an enclosed environment to really get the best out of them. "wall" "of" and "sound" are words that spring to mind. Stunning, stunning band.

the new mastodon is a complex beast. Its dissapointingly straightforward after Remission, but it grooves like a son of a bitch and is just so enjoyable to listen to. Out of all the new albums i got in the last month (DEP. converge, caliban, unearth, shadows fall, acacia strain, a perfect murder, as I lay dying) its the mastodon and DEP albums I just keep coming back to

...Its dissapointingly straightforward after Remission...

Yeah - it is a little disappointing, but I guess EVERYONE was expecting Remission 2:Heavier, more technical AND more melodic.

I need to give it more time. I hope once I begin to anticipate the drumming rather than listening to it I'll find the hidden depth

ok, been listening to miss machine more and more and y'know what. its a fucking masterpiece. Just brilliant brilliant songs. Who gives a fuck if its more mainstream or whatever. it rocks like a bastard.

Have to agree.

Setting Fire to sleeping Giants and Unretrofied have this lovely feeling of easy listening, like its verging on pop, but far too good to be considered anything like that. Been on in my car pretty much non-stop.

I am also quite liking Misery Signals at the moment. Not the same level as Dillinger and more hardcore but similar kind of thing.

Is anybody going to the wulfrun to see them in November, I'm pretty stoked that they are playing somewhere near me.

And to cap it off, pitchshifter are playing at the wulfrun few weeks earlier - is anybody going to see them as well?

I'm going to both Pitchshifter/SikTh and Dillinger in the Wulfrun. <_<
