Really undecided about whether to pre-order the Limited or Legendary edition of Halo 3. The extra £25 gets me a Helmet, 2nd bonus disc and some storyboard art....normally I always get the most complete version of a game, but I'm really not sure this time around.

What is everyone else pre-ordering?

Limited or standard

the legendary one looks tacky and the the extras will probably be on a normal dvd ie so it means it will be uploaded on usenet or something

Legendary of course! The helmet may not fit a human head, but with a little effort it can certainly fit a cat's.

Awesome!

PS

Legendary Version. But I do have a cat.

Damn! I got pawned!

but the in movies featured on the disc are running in engine in HD so it'll have to be a game disc. I'm sure a site like xboxyde will have them up fairly sharpish though.

£25 for a helmet, some bonus content and storyboard art........

Put it this way, if they sold that seperately from the game for £25 would you buy it?

No, blatantly.

Is this actually going to be 'limited' unlike the Halo 2: LE which can still be bought new for £10. I've heard it's limited to 450,000 copies but I can't remember where I read that.

I heard that too about the 450,000 copies. I don't read any other game sites though so it was either an online store or on Bungie.

It was some guy on here who I can't remember, I don't think he posted a source.

It seems to have come from somebody not reading properly as usual:

JS : As we finalized the concept of the Mark VI helmet, we knew that Microsoft had not done any previous works with this amount of detail and complex geometry . It is one thing to look at a keyboard, mouse or console and say ‘yeah that’s what it should look and feel like’. It is an entirely different thing to produce a helmet where all of our customers have a very specific expectation of what it should look like.

When we look at other “like” items out in the market place we have seen a number of high quality collectors icons created for movie titles by various studios. These have tended to be short or very limited production. Given the scale and magnitude of the Halo 3 launch and demand exceeding 450,00 units, it requires a whole different set of thinking in terms of materials, industrial design, and deco methods. To this end I feel that challenged everybody in the extended supply and manufacturing chain to bring their “A-game.”

The mounted weapon includes a battery for short term operation separated from the vehicle, but normally operates on the vehicle’s power supply.

Does this mean the gun can be taken off and used as a weapon on it's own?

Also making extra space in the Warthog for extra people maybe? You could have an extra person for an attack (YaWbiBs idea) and put the gun at your base for defence. Or something.
