Its a lovely little machine, cant wait to pick one up with San Andreas..

I presume so. I prefer the PS to the PSOne.

Same situation with the PSTwo. I think it looks a little bland. The normal PS2 has a nice chunky Mega Drive quality to it what with the grills and such.

Apparently the DMS4 modchip will work on this with very little modification, so the DMS team will be able to start shipping chips by Friday.

Similarly, those who prefer to use the disc swap method for their imports will be glad to know that the SwapMagic CD is compatible. You just have to open up the console and tape down the internal door sensor.

This is great news as I can now compact my console collection to fit in the bottom shelf of my TV stand as opposed to the filthy, wooden monstrosity that currently houses them.

Amongst the planned peripherals i'm guessing theres some kind of fold down screen planned?. Even without the battery (which might also be in the works) it'll make quite a nice portable movie player.

Nonsense. And there's no talk of a screen, either, which shouldn't be a surprise as the PSone's screen wasn't exactly a massive commercial success.

I'm not sure if Sony consumer electronics are concerned or not, but it's likely given the bad blood between them and SCE.

The consumer electronics bit controls the PS side of things now anyway. SCE only have control of software.

Yep its already out over there. I thought the official date was about the same, but everyone seems to be selling it.

I hope GAME etc will be selling them over here on the 29th, so I can pick up a San Andreas bundle
