I'd put it down to me just having an off night, y'know, when everything you do is wrong? Factor in that I'm not averse to a glass or two of wine and I just thought I was just being shit but I'm begining to think that really isn't it. You don't have to have 'teleporting' enemies to put your aim off. I still love it but I do hope they add more servers worldwide*. I don't want to be separated from the yanks though, I love sticking it up 'em. They don't like it up 'em Mr. Mainwaring.

*EDIT: But if they are the host this probs won't solve it. Roll on better connections in the UK. I'm up to 2meg download but still the poxy average upload, what is it, 256kb/s?

I'll be upped to 4meg download soon but the upload's staying the same old 256kbs - I don't think NTL can increase it anymore. :)

It happens to the best of us. Ive had more than my fair share of Teddy Chucking sessions over the past month! :)

The only teddy I chucked was about not being able to join in earlier. I still think my play in our earlier inter-clan games suggests that I wasn't having an off night just suffering occasionally from the yanks hosting. Locking on to their hog, only to see them swerve and for the rocket to sail straight on and fuck up our own hog was teh shit, I did kill the bastards afterwards but that was a little late.

Is there a way to limit the amount of members in a party without specifying it in a custom game type? If we have four clan members ready to go, it would be nice to send out blanket invites, and the first four to come in can be our opposing team. As it works at the moment, we just about get an even number, then someone else pops in! Before you know it you've got a 15 player unbalanced lagathon.

I've thought the same (about having an off day) but then in a Custom Game straight after it's been like playing on a LAN.

You rarely get the teleporting enemies due to the netcode, the signs of latency though are:

Full SMG clips not killing people with no shields

Ditto Melee

Plasma Pistol bolts not locking on / firing

No grenades coming out

Ditto rockets

Enemies dropping ages after being shot in the teeth with the Sniper (usually causing you to put a 2nd round in :))

The Shotgun

The Sword

A lot of it isn't visible at all but it's there for sure.

A regional filter would help: USA / Europe / Asia / Australasia / Global or just getting the Match Making to pick up on the latency issue.

I want to be able to play the US too, but only on a level playing field.

That's the problem. And people like trocodereo have 10mb download 2mb upload!!

But can you be sure it's not host advantage? that's the crap thing.

I think the 'peer pressure' of being asked for an invite is also a problem, maybe a locked party should be invisible. I'm not suggesting exclusion but some of this unbalanced stuff makes for a frustrating time. I dunno, maybe we could all ditch our real lives and meet online every day and be there on the dot of the arranged hour....

4 of Om Yom played 4 of EVT in a locked room earlier on. I'm sure other concerned parties weren't offended. You either need to lock it quick or be ruthless and kick someone :)

There's been a couple of instances over the last week where I've been in a room with six or eight Roll Muck people and a random or three, and I've wanted to boot the randoms, but I just don't have it in me.

It's also a little weird that you can't lock a party of one. What if you just want to kick back and do your own thing? These are minor niggles but I suppose I'm a little frustrated that when you want to do clan stuff then you have to get your room in order or face a night of uneven games or potentially upsetting someone. I'm too nice for that too Pob, people just want to play.

I actually offereed to dip out in one match to let you play Harlen but they told me not to :)

Also last night that CTF on Coag - even though one of them at the end was as miffed as us as to our score mysteriously disappearing when Atarian left and one of theirs left, during the in battle there were a few weird things going on. For one I fully locked onto and blasted a rocket at a Warthog and it didn't even touch them. Also I beleive Harlen locked on a few times to the opposing teams Warthog only to find me in one instance and blow me up instead ;)

You can - go to Game Options, press 'X' and lock it when you're in the lobby by yourself.

I think we need to all try and agree on what to do about these Party problems. Here's my thoughts, if you think they're crap feel free to say so:

1. If there are non clan members in the party stopping us doing a certain gametype, or preventing other clan members from joining, then politely kick them.

2. If there are an odd number of clan members online (say 7) then no-one should have to leave. The party could play big team battles or custom games of 4 vs 3. The amount of times we play clan matches against a team with 1 more or 1 less means this could be good practice.

3. If there are 4 clan members online then it's perfectly acceptable for them to close their party and get on with it, if they want to do some team skirmishes or minor clan matches etc.

They're my suggestions anyway. :)

1. This should be the case, at least sometimes. We would like to grow as a clan I assume.

2. Big team battles are a problem without Atarian online. 4 vs. 3 could work, especially if we're honest about who the best 3 are, alternatively, I believe a game option exists whereby a team of 4 will only ever have 3 players aactive at one time, death of a teammate ensures rotation. Every man for himself slayers on occasion could be option, although I do love the team stuff.

3. I agree. It may actually be worthwhile splitting into teams of 4 or less and trying to play team skirmish or minor clan matches, especially when Atarian isn't about. I love taking a party of four into matchmaking and I think with the popularity of LIVE and Halo 2 we're losing sight of the minor clan games. Is it possible to have 2 minor clans playing at once from the same clan?

I do feel a certainclan/kinship with the forumites I've been thrown together with. It's pretty good.

Yes, we've done it before but not for a while. I actually prefer the smaller team games, I tend to get a bit lost in the big team battles, not really sure whether to attack, defend etc.
