Yeah, after a shaky start we were panning all comers. I was especially pleased with the Ascension slayer! And us three beating a team of four on Midship was pretty cool.

I got some good sniping practice in when it ended up four vs. one on Burial Mounds. Poor bloke!

There was a great bit on Ascension where I was massacaring all comers from the open sniper tower. I'd pick off some fools with the rifle, then they'd send a crack team of reds over to take me down, but I was always ready with my shottie ("for close encounters"). I was getting all sorts of accolades - triple kill, running riot etc.

Eventually a couple of reds caught me off guard. I got a few hits in, but my shield was down. Suddenly, the two reds explode in front of my eyes, and I see 'JustDaddy killed xxxx' and 'JustDaddy killed xxxx' at the top of the screen. It was the most accurate and well timed grenade ever! I felt like sucking his yankee dick, I can tell you.

I may be on this Sat afternoon if my connection isn't fuxored - all I can think of is my flatmate might have left his PC dowloading through some fileshare program, cos the past 2 nights my connection has been yellow/red. Anyway, got my new graphics card working on Friday and have been playing Half Life 2 - goddamn its good. So that's what I'll be doing in the evening. Might join yas for some Sunday playing though cos I'm bound to have finished it by then.

Sorry I didn't make last night guys; RE4 is just too good. :rolleyes:

After 2 months of sleeping in I'm having a little trouble adjusting to normal life. I was planning on doing some H2 last night but I just fell asleep in front of the telly at about 20.30 and woke up at 0.30 ;) Sorry about that. I won't be able to play tonight since we'll be having a bunch of people over and I don't think they're into games :D

I much prefer 4 v 4 now though. Big team battle is losing its appeal for me at the mo ;)

the big team battles do show some lack of coordination and tactics on our side though. Like the one team on CTF Zanzibar where they really came in big waves. One guy rushing for the switch and then the whole team rushing the door with vehicles and all. Whereas when we play it's usually a couple of people in the hog rushing through the front door and the others take either the left or right but we don't reach the building at the same time. In big team battles this makes a big difference, not so much in 4 on 4 though.

On defense they spread out nicely around the flag so it's hard to take them out. Like when the flag was outside the gate and they just had a bunch of people in a big circle around it. That makes it really hard to get a good attack going.

It's very easy to get spread out on Coag, expecially when all your cars are gone. Getting a proper, co-ordinated attack together on BTB takes time and patience. By the time everyone is tooled up and in position, someone's hassling the bomb carrier or a Banshee is making everyone head for the hills or something.

We had a discussion in the pregame lobby last night about how losing doesn't really matter as long as you're having fun while losing. But everyone agreed that it's no fun when you get played constantly. That's not really what was happening last night in the big team battles but we were really struggling on Zanzibar.

I agree that Coag is one of the maps where it's not a good decision to do a full on assault. But the game I was talking about was 1 flag CTF on Zanzibar, for which it's very helpful to have good team tactics, as the other team proved on every round.

So I'm not saying we should practice on tactics cause that's not really fun if you ask me. It's just that maybe against those kind of teams we should stick together instead of splitting up in smaller groups like we tend to do most of the time.
