We had a discussion in the pregame lobby last night about how losing doesn't really matter as long as you're having fun while losing. But everyone agreed that it's no fun when you get played constantly. That's not really what was happening last night in the big team battles but we were really struggling on Zanzibar.

I agree that Coag is one of the maps where it's not a good decision to do a full on assault. But the game I was talking about was 1 flag CTF on Zanzibar, for which it's very helpful to have good team tactics, as the other team proved on every round.

So I'm not saying we should practice on tactics cause that's not really fun if you ask me. It's just that maybe against those kind of teams we should stick together instead of splitting up in smaller groups like we tend to do most of the time.

We do actually have tactics for Zanzi Real. Its just sometimes in Big team battles things can get a bit fragmented aftet the initial attack fails and people start going in on their own as the respawn.

That sniper on Coag was a lvl 18 right? Man those guys were good, I think they planted that bomb twice within the first 2 minutes of the game and could have gotten a lot more if they hadn't decided to keep the bomb in their base and just keep us in our base by sniping.

Good thing we got those Italians on the last game to boost our confidence :angry:

Mixed bag tonight guys.  My heart has left BTB, for now anyway, much preferring the championship, and practicing amongst ourselves in custom games just now.

Maybe when my new router comes ourt connection problems will be over and all will be sunny in the world again  B)

I WAS on after 10........... 10.45 to be precise!!!

It was the earliest possible time I could get on, I sent you a message during your Foundation game but then you went into another game and then all went offline. :o

I like the whole puzzle thing where we have to figure out who needs to start the party and in which order we have to join before we are all in the same party. I really liked the part where U1 proved that he can make Syntax leave the party. Weird how that connection/router thing works in the UK. Maybe it has to do with our bits and bytes travelling through the router on the right side and your limey bits and bytes travelling on the left side???

Really? I didnt get it/notice it.

We were all shooting off early anyway, I think collectively as a clan we are all suffering from sleep depravation :lol:

I still ended up messing round doing stuff till 1am :huh:

Do you think that Syntax can't join when you or Atarian are hosting? I know that with Syntax in the room we often have trouble doing major clan matches - maybe this is because you two are not able to host with Syntax around, so whoever is hosting doesn't have enough bandwidth?

When U-1 left last night (I'm assuming he was hosting behind the scenes), host duties passed over to one of you two - hence Syntax got booted.

It would also explain the extra lag when Syntax is around - you guys with your good connections can't host with him in the room, so we get a more laggy game.

I reckon that's it. Syntax's router can't 'see' yours, Atarian's or my connection and vice versa. Uto and U1- don't seem to have compatibilty issues, luckily.

It's something like that. Jigsawn is also able to 'connect' everyone but lately seems to have a flaky connection. Also, the problems aren't a permanent given, since we have done major clanmatches with Syntax and Carrera.

Generally It looks like router incompatibilities which suggests NAT issues. Since it works some of the time and resetting their router sometimes solves the problem too, I think their router might alternate NAT settings (Why I don't know). It's certainly something of a black art.

Yeah I dont seem to have any problems connecting but I was still having some serious lag issues in most of the matchmaking games. Couldnt even see the flag on most of the Big Team Battles we played.

Have to admit.. I really enjoyed the last couple of slayer games. Think I might have to try sniping more often. It was a great laugh trying to defend the sniper tower, hearing Syntax shout obscenities at me every time I killed him and having a proper boxing match with Hitcher :lol:

You were doing what I was doing the last time I played Ascension slayer - sniping sitting ducks, then when the radar lights up with angry people coming to dislodge you, going down the slope and lying in wait, then blasting them when come round the corner. I got a spree of 13 doing that!

So many times in that game someone would seem to suddenly appear next to me with a shotgun right in my ear. Carrera especially!
